Given that one of my BOINC projects needs a hard reset – and the admin is currently in France for the holidays, perhaps it was designed as a remote hard-reboot functionality, say your legs stopped working or whatever the drone equivalent of the ‘blue screen of death’ is.
I see! It was planned in advance that a rant about unstopabikity would shut down the drone. Which makes me wonder just how far in advance Mr Green planned this escapade…

That would be a fairly sensible precaution, which might rule it out if the drone was created by Mad Science.
