Anasigma hasn’t lost their interest in torturing Sweetheart, I see. We have seen where Sweetheart Prime can be pushed. But the young Jedi is better trained than Mr. Green may realize, and if he believes he’s the only puppetmaster sitting in front of this chess board, he’s liable to get trumped.
He knows there are other players, but he thinks the cards up his sleeve have the dice loaded in his favor, so he’s backing the right horse and letting the chips fall where they may for everyone else.
Others may have all the ore and sheep, but he has a Monopoly card and i going to play it at the right time. Hopefully it’s before everyone else builds their cities
Ha. I haven’t been able to track down the actual quote, but I do believe Stan on dinnerladies had a few choice words to say about the change from “Personnel” to “Human Resources”….
[/gratuitous Britcom reference]
In Charles Stross’ Laundry series, there is Residual Human Resources: just because you’ve become metabolically-impaired does not release you from your oath to Queen and Country. Just be careful in the dark stairways and basements after regular office hours.
this is the beginning of the end. Or, perhaps the end of the beginning. Possibly, the middle of middle. Well… certainly the start of a muddle. How long can Sweetheart keep this up? When will she crack and realize the whole situation is not what it is cracked up to be? Then, rage against the machine, possibly tipping a cup or two, to get skin horse out on its own again? Or, worse, start trying to help A-sig and so, destroy this version of it.
Uh, oh. AGI and a dog with a foaming mouth… let us hope the Dork Knight isn’t around…
Nearly Sunday… hoping for a rear view of Virginia in her battle armor, watching Tigerlilly and Panoptica oiling snakes! Probably be better as a desktop, though…

(am I doing this right?)
Bam! Heroic brew!
Touché!
Silly Sweetheart! Personnel departments were supposed to understand people. They got renamed Human Resources to indicate that they didn’t.
(Apologies to any HR people reading this.)

In many organisations, HR are unofficially (and never to their face!) nicknamed Human Remains…
Human Resources: the department in charge of treating people as things.
(Pratchett reference entirely intentional.)
Catbert would fit in well in this multiverse.
Surely someone of her exalted status would be entitled to a *private* restroom…
I don’t think she’s *directly* in the DoD’s chain of command, so Sweetheart is still just a flunky, albeit an exalted one.
Can a product of mad science become a madgirl herself? This is going to hit so many of her triggers.
Also, it might not be A-Sig as a whole here, just some underlings having fun at the boss.
Well, the Narbons all managed to be both products and scientists up until Beta broke the tradition.

The depiction of Sweetheart in panel 4 is yet another one of those things that just screams “Pogo.”

The Dork Knight didn’t pass the test. And we don’t really know what the consequences of failure are…
DK didn’t do as well; actual failure? Who knows? They may grade on a curve. They may have to put up with yoyos to keep valuable skill sets, too.
