      Nick did it to pass the time and earn income while Skin Horse was disbanded.

      As I recall, Tip was in working in an incubator for the Department of Chicken Tracking (covered in hot chicks), Unity was a spy working for the underground Emergency Food Assistance, Sweetheart was on paid leave and going stir crazy, and Nick found something interesting. http://skin-horse.com/comic/a-desk-at/

      He never did get officially recruited to SH again.

    I guess it makes sense that any superheroes in the Narbornverse would be ineffectual and worthless or else the Mads wouldn’t get away with half of the stuff that they do. >_>

    Come to think of it, the first time we (And Dave!) met a certain forensic detective the first thing that detective did was put Dave into a death trap of sorts. Not exactly the sort of thing you’d expect from real heroes either. ^^;;

      I do feel the Asshole Government Superhero vibe is self-defeating in the Narboniverse, but just like Antonio, they’ll wind up in deep freeze with hamsters deciding their fate.

      He put him in Helen’s death trap, after Dave took the minion job. His FIRST reaction was ‘Hostage!’

    I suppose if Nick insulted this guy without using swear words, it’d just go over his head…

    Nick finds himself in the unenviable position of Only Sane Airplane for this crew, doesn’t he? On the other hand, his ability to snark is going to honed to a monomolecular edge.

    “Ho” => “hoe”?

      Hmmm, yes. It appears that Nick is getting better at finessing the swear filter. He’s been working on that for a while.

    Uh, no, Nick, your mom. In a weird mad-sciency kind of way.

    Am I the only person reading this and thinking “Nick Chopper” from the Oz books??
