But will electronic brains make UNITY smarter?

    • Kirt Dankmyer
      February 25, 2013, 12:38 pm | # | Reply

Possibly, since I suspect that effect is psychological in UNITY’s case. After all, she’s not a true zombie, but a blood-based product of mad science that *happens* to wear a corpse suit. I suspect brains make her smarter only because she *thinks* that’s what should happen.

I suspect it is probably more closely related to the potassium / sodium intake…

What makes you think GODOT’s brain is electronic? He’s a product of Anasigma, after all.

I don’t think this is an “eating brains” things. I think this is an “eating random objects” thing.

She has, after all, previously eaten parking meters and Tip’s car.

Well, if GODOT wasn’t dead already, then it’s murder, not suicide. Either way, case closed. Score another one for bureaucracy!
(Did she eat the hat, too? Bad plan, Unity, bad plan!)

they might make her perma-smart since these would not be biodegradable.

That could work with Kirt Dankmyer’s theory, that this is phycological, since after all if Unity is digesting the brains for their intelligence (??) then if she cant digest it it wouldnt actually do anything

(also i like the avatar. karkat FTW)

I’m not sure I want her to be perma-smart. Unity has her own charm, even when dumb.

I’m just waiting for the white mice to pop in looking for a brain to dissect…

It’s okay; you’ll be programmed NOT to!

Now, now. The white mice finished their experiment, remember? They may be coming back for more quotes to confound philosphers with. In which case, U.N.I.T.Y. is still perfect for them.

    (TUNE: “Follow Me”, Uncle Kracker)

We met aboard St. Charlie, the crazy train
That was run by a crazy artificial brain!
When I couldn’t solve a problem, it made me frown,
But when you showed me the answer then at last I shut down!

     [CHORUS:]
      I’m saying …
Gnaw on me, it’ll make you smart!
You’ll be the one to tear my insides apart!
      And when you …
Finally die, with a high I.Q.,
We will let some zombie gnaw on you!

I was so frustrated, the outlook grim,
When I couldn’t see, in UNITY, a backronym!
But phrase you found was perfect, and that was that!
So I say adieu and adios and thanks for the hat!

    [repeat CHORUS]

So was GODOT a brain in a jar masquerading as an AI, an organic computer, or did Unity just bite into a big ol’ wad of silicon?

His full name was Genetic Organism Designed Only for Thought, which suggests at least a partly organic structure.

Absolutely. She’s merely fulfilling his last wish: “I WANT TO BE YOU.”

    So….

What if this means G.O.D.O.T and Unity end up fighting for control of the host body?

    Worse… what if he wins?
