Poor Nick, that not Dr. Lee. On the other hand considering how non-anatomically correct the gynoid is reported to be, perhaps it is all for the best. 🙂

Considering how reality blind those two are supposed to be, I don’t think he’d notice Nick’s body not being “there”.

Nope, not Dr Lee. But some how I doubt she’d truly mind (she did get with Tip, after all). But I doubt the non-anatomically correct would slow her down… she’d just create a new one / modify this one to become anatomically correct if she needed to… although something tells me she’d just “jack” her mind in with him….

I can’t shake the feeling that this guy seems oddly familiar.

I thought he was Sergio at first.

Does Sergio (like Dave) have reality blind relatives?

I just checked the archives for Choose, and there is a resemblance – change the glasses and muss the hair.

Of course – in this medium he could have a classy British accent like Caliban and we could not tell…..

I…. what about my relatives? I’m confused by that setence.

It’s a reference to Dave Davenport of “Narbonic”.

Oh, sorry. I’ve never read Narbonic. XD

Go read Narbonic right this instant, Dave

now that you mention it ….. he does seem familiar.

But the voice at the back of my mind is say we have seen him somewhere in Monster of the Week, not in Skin Horse
      http://www.shaenon.com/monsteroftheweek/
      (just don’t ask me where)

Although, the voice at the front-right if my mind is saying Shaenon wouldn’t use a character from a X-Files retrospective strip/episode in a web comic that is completely unrelated to anything X-Files related … would she?

      0.o

Hmmmm…. and now the voice in the middle of my mind is saying “No, the red light means it is *NOT* broadcasting. See, I’ll show you, if I push this button it wil…………

I think he’s just a generic model for a Causcasian nerd with dark, curly hair (Jewish, Italian, Latino). He kind of reminds me of me without my contacts in.

(TUNE: “Thank You Very Much” from Scrooge, Leslie Bricusse)

We just caught the Whimsy lackeys out in the parking lot,
And one of them will bat her big brown eyes …
A question now she’ll throw at us,
    “Could we engage in coitus?”
(Which, knowing Tip, should come as no surprise)
And just as she walks out, I realize …

    That was Mary’s voice!
    That was Mary’s voice!
It’s the actress who’s done voices for all my games and shows!
She’s done some work, as well,
    For Pixar and Mattel,
As any nerd who follows the Whimsy cartoons knows!
She always sounds so bubbly, bright, and cheerful!
Her bosses made the perfect casting choice!
And if I had the proper working anatomic parts,
    I would marry merry Mary’s voice …
I would marry merry Mary’s voice!

When geeks hit on girls its strange to see
the girls want to run, to hide, to flee
when geeks hit on guys on the contrary
its something you’ll likely never see
but when a geek hits on a girl who’s really a drone that is really a guy, who is a plane flying in the sky…

…you’d think that a well-built word processor would just self-destruct at this point…… if only for the good of humanity, aye?

Things like this remind me that Skin Horse is its own erotic fan fiction.

Until shown otherwise, I’m going to assume that reality-blind people hear what Nick *actually meant*, instead of some kind of obviously-synthesized interruption.

Eh, they probably still hear the substituted word, but not as synthesized or anything. At most it probably sounds to them like his (her) voice cracked.

I wonder if Nick’s “I oughta do it for the lulz” here will prove to be some kind of turning point. Not that he’ll ever identify as female, but he might start rolling with people’s perception as such for short-term encounters.

Yes, I’m still hoping for Princess Nick.

Given Nick’s past history and current circumstances, this might be the closest he ever gets to a normal date.

Sadly, I fear the same may be true for the other guy.

I’m glad Nick is open to expanding his world view and experiencing social interaction from a perspective he never would have been able to before. You know, for “the lulz”

Ahh… prediction: the “chick” who does the voice of Mary in the Whimsy cartoons will turn out to be Dr. Collodi’s long-lost daughter!
