Awww… poor adorable allergic cobras! I’m gonna be super disappointed if they don’t find a way to somehow defeat all the evil monsters with hugs.

Meg has learned an important lesson: One way or another Lunchables will kill you.

    Alfie—the oldest at thirteen—Alpha?

    Meg—too little—the youngest?—Omega?

I’ve been wondering about that. Mostly we see four, including Alfie and Meg…but a couple strips had five.

We don’t want a life in hiding with a sneeze in every nose.
All we want’s the chance to save them from the danger, we suppose.
We will rescue friends in danger ‘cause the adults cannot cope,
And hide our meds in sweaters so the gangstas think it’s dope.

To be strong and feared and dangerous is what we have in mind,
And to leave the straight-and-narrow and to show a little spine.
We can’t stand it that the adults got themselves into this bind,
To be strong and feared and dangerous is what we have in mind.

—from “Silver Threads and Golden Needles,” Wanda Jackson through the Springfields and, ultimately, Linda Rondstadt.

She’s strong, she’s dangerous, and if she could breathe she’d take them all on.

Meg, sweetie, I’ve been there and I feel for you.

So, Alfie’s going to take allergy meds to the creatures that are blocked by goldenrod?

No, the meds are for them, it’s dangerous in the wild outdoors, with all them pesky allergens that are immune to hugs from cute cobra’s (unless missed a page, tends to happen 🙁 )

Lunchables are also made of plastic, so that’s probably a factor…

Hee–hee. Alfie sneering looks a *little* bit like Albert Alligator in the 1940s Animal Comics.
