Shaenon: Okay, back to Trash! Some people have noticed the random Esperanto sprinkled into the comic. I thought it would be fun to work different languages into this future. Also, I just like Esperanto.

Harry Harrison and his Stainless Steel Rat series was heavily in to Esperanto. Cool guy, I got to spend an hour or so just shooting the breeze with him at a Phoenix SciFi con back in the 80’s when I did film programming and operations.
