So is the reality blindness keeping the waitress from perceiving the giant radioactive aspects of this platter or is this just daily normality in the cafeteria?

I, too, was thinking she was being awfully nonchalant about an 8 foot tall crustacean.

It still could swing either way. But if that thing were truly the intended order and honestly cooperates in being devoured then I’m going to start getting some “Restaurant At The End Of The Universe”-type vibes out of this eating place. Are we sure the Lobster will execute itself humanely? o_O

We’re gonna need a bigger pot, not to mention an awful lot of BTUs to get the water boiling!

I’m more looking for the *real* tubs of melted butter that we can use.

            It’s all about the butter!

I think the lobster is providing all the BTUs you can handle at the moment. The water should start boiling once he puts a claw in.

I’d go with reality blindness. No restaurant is going to give you that much lobster at an affordable price.

That’s an awfully cute giant, killer, grumpy lobster. D’awww!

With luck, Unity will lurch in from the armory in the nick of time!

Wait. It appears to be alive, but it’s red. Lobsters don’t turn red until cooked. Is it undead, or what?

      Cartoon lobsters are always red

And radioactive ones are… hmm, do we even know?

Generally depicted as either glowing (Chernenkov radiation) or that beautiful yellow-green of uranium glassware.

Apparently I missed this, but Niue ordered lobster? High maintenance date! Although Niue being high maintenance probably goes without saying.

We missed her ordering the lobster, but we caught Sweetheart complaining about her being shellfish for doing so, and Nick refusing to help because this date wasn’t kosher.

I was right! It did turn into a gargan! Now to watch MST3K ‘s “Teenagers From Outer Space” to see what to do about it!

I can’t be sure, but I like to imagine the in-drone communication in the last panel is Unity chiming in. She knows the score here “Look, a giant, radioactive octopus!” then wham! Four consecutive leg sweeps!

Lobsters have fiver pairs of legs, some with claws, so Unity can practice her
    sweeps plenty with that crustacean.

Ah yes, a real stress test for the drone, ccombating an 8 foot tall lobster man!

…hey take victories where they can be found.
