I can only assume that all of Nick’s shirts from now on will be air/sky/aviation-based from now on.

      Or video/mmo games.

Clearly he needs a Cloudstone shirt.

I know he’s from Philly and so never heard of it, but Shaenon is from Ohio. How about a Skyline Chili shirt?

Here’s a question, why would Nick put on a new shirt on the drone? It wouldn’t provide the usual sweat and oils that would mess up normal clothing, necessitating cleaning. So he wouldn’t need to pack an extra wardrobe. Nick also seems like the kind of guy who thinks putting on a shirt straight off the floor after a couple of days is perfectly acceptable.

Having the drone lying in the bed can be explained by it falling over if he’s not directly controlling it and activating the internal gyros.

The Spirit of WhimsyCorp has an overly friendly Ghost of a Dog?

Or is said Spirit more corporeal behind a curtain somewhere, and Sweetheart just pulled a Toto?

I’m beginning to think whether or not the drone can perceive spirits is less relevant than I was thinking yesterday^_^

Ignore the corporate lawyer behind the curtain.

So, if Tip is Dorothy, UNITY is the Scarecrow, Sweetheart is the Cowardly Lion, and Nick is the Tin Man… then who is Toto?

That works for our main crew unfortunately
          But
We can make it even more Ozian.
          Since Tip is the Princess.
          Tip is therefore Ozma.

If I recall Marvelous Land of Oz correctly, that is very much the case.

Nope. We had the cowardly lion already, in the storyline of the same name, who now does a webcomic. Unity is the Patchwork Girl, Tip is Princess Ozma pretending to be a boy (thanks for jogging my memory, DR and DC), and Sweetheart is Toto.

So would Gavotte be Glinda, I wonder..?

(Very happy about Sweetheart’s display of competence. *smiles*)

So Dorothy would have to be an.outsider, puzzled by the strange goings-on … Dr. Virginia Lee.

I’m not entirely sure I’d consider Nick the childlike whimsical one either.

….that said, he’s probably the closest they’ve got.

Now then. Who’s behind the curtain of the “Spirit”, and are they a balloonist?

Many a cynical person has a whimsical inner self.

Everyone has ‘masks’ or identities that they use around different people.

Nick’s ‘coarse gamer’ façade is merely the surface personality that we know. There have been hints of a softer side – between mooning after Dr. Lee, being a Whimsy fan (doth protest too much NOT to be one).

I think our entire crew has undisclosed facets we have yet to experience.

Since the SoWC has addressed each prospective Princess (both of them, not a very big sample, I know ^_^) by name on “entry”, I’m thinking it’s less a case of Wrong Room than Wrong Pawn. But I like the Person In the Hall idea!

    (TUNE: “Heart Attack”, Demi Lovato)

    Gotta call Zerhakker up,
But something comes to interrupt …
Can you give me a sec? I’m gonna have to call you back!

Little House is set for demolition,
Need someone to fill Princess position!
Nick wakes up, sees an apparation,
Says, “Scarf, malfunction in my drone vision!”

    He’s not fe-male,
He’s just a guy in a girl suit!
    Will this entail
Attempts to make him demure and cute?

But with … WhimsyCorp as spirit guide,
Can they hide the rude dude inside?
    With a … tiara and a dress,
Can they make him a princess?

    But then some stu-u-u-u-pid dog
Messes up their carping di-a-lo-o-o-o-og …
    Yeah, they
    Gotta call Zerhakker up,
But something comes to interrupt …
Can you give me a sec? I’m gonna have to call you back!

I like the “wrrr*Ping*” as Nick wakes up.

Ohhhh …. wild guessing time – the Spirit of Whimsy Corp is actually Dr.C[can’t remember how to spell his name]’s daughter.

Also, I would totally purchase a phone that allowed me to appear to other people as a glowing beacon of pixy-light and pretend to be a spirit. Just think of the potential!

It’s called a phone with an integrated LED DLP projector (like the Samsung Beam), and you just hold it to the keyhole… 😛

So I guess when Nick’s brain sleeps he leaves a connection to the drone open? I guess it makes sense but it would double the number of distracting inputs that might wake him at night.

Poor guy can not only detect a flock of birds flying over his hanger but also the couple in the next hotel room having loud…err…discussions.

Which just raises the classic question: do androids gynoids dream of electric sheep?

I think Nick would be the Tin Man. In the Wizard of Oz, the guy’s real name was “Nick Chopper”- only he wasn’t the helicopter kind of chopper, of course.
