!! Well, it’s just reunion central around here, isn’t it?

‘M a bit confused about the first three panels – is he trying out suggestions to see what gets Sergio to react, or are we seeing the same scene run through multiple times with slight variations?

      I think it’s the latter.

Those words don’t exist, you know.

They’ve been said, therefore they exist.
It doesn’t necessarily make them words though. Like “y’all”. It isn’t a word, but it still gets said a lot… and bothers me in a very unique way.

What makes it a word, then? It’s not enough that a large group of people spread across a large area use it in everyday language? Your restrictions don’t make sense to me.

“When I use a word, it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less.’ ‘

          It’s a perfectly cromulent word.

Wait, but a few strips ago Sergio was saying that he never cracked the energy barrier for time travel. What was going on in “Adjustment” in Lil Mel? Was he destroying the universe multiple times without even realizing it?

That was the Sergio who travelled back in time. This is presumably the Sergio who was in school. Sure, the latter would have become the former, except the former travelled back in time, reshaping his own personal development and averting that scenario. As such, there is no continuity of consciousness.

That should result in duplicate Sergios, except he immediately travelled forward in time. At one point, there are going to be two Sergios, one of which has travelled through time. That’s still a ways off though.

I can think of someone who would be very happy to have an bonus Sergio around.

That Sergio was from further along a different timeline. Either he solves it later in life, or something that the time travelling Sergio changed keeps him from solving it.

I know it’s hard but you’ve been there before,
and you know you’re gonna be there again.
