Yeah, talking lions, dogs, and even cockroaches I can handle. Bird people? No problem. But a webcartonist making 6 figures? Suspension of disbelief just… GONE. 😛
And then there’s Homestuck…
Andrew Hussie got, what, 26 million dollars in his kickstarter? For a game only tangentially related to his comic? Yeah, it’s crazy.
Never stop dreaming
Went to the cartoon art museum today, found both Narbonic and Skin Horse for sale, Waiting until tomorrow to take advantage of 10% discount in honor of free comic book day! 😀
Still… why would anyone intent on making money try to do it through webcomics anyway? It makes perfect sense to do a webcomic as a hobby. Doing it as a job is kinda insane, by my reckoning. Even the people who are REALLY successful at it strike me as kinda batshit crazy.
Most people who get into webcomics do so because they want to make art. Making money means you get to quit your day job and spend that time making more art.

I am thinking two of the digits are dimes and pennies.
the OotS kickstarter made 1.25 million dollars (not a net gain, but still).

Making money isn’t most people’s objective, but it IS a requirement.
Hey, if you convert it to the right currency…
That’s it, he’s making six figures but it’s in yen! Which translates to about three figures in dollars…
As of writing this comic, 100,000 Indonesian Rupiah translates to about $6.68 USD
*comment not comic, sorry
