October 2010 Wallpaper
Shaenon: I’ve been late putting up this month’s wallpaper because we’ve had so many other exciting announcements, what with the new book and all. But here it is, just in time for Halloween. As usual, if you make a donation in any amount to the Skin Horse Tip Jar, I will send you a link to the wallpaper. This wallpaper design comes in two different aspect ratios (regular screen and widescreen) to fit most computer monitors and is both Mac- and PC-friendly. Here’s the wallpaper page.
Meanwhile, if you’re in the Bay Area this coming Saturday, don’t miss the Skin Horse Volume 2 book release party at Borderlands Books in San Francisco. Jeff and I will both be in attendance and will have Skin Horse and Narbonic books, plus cupcakes for all from Cups and Cakes Bakery. Like I’ve said before, Jeff and I don’t get to meet in person very often, so this is an exciting event for us.
Channing: I am fairly certain I have already told you all that you should come to this party, but I’magonna tell you again. That is how much I believe you should come to this party.
And yes, I am typing this from San Francisco! Woo hoo! It’s always a bit surreal being here in the city, enjoying the hospitality of my esteemed co-author and her husband, whose own considerable talents are eclipsed only by his laconicness and his vague resemblance to Justin Long. This visit promises to be extra-surreal, though. Apparently I am going to be interviewing an Indie Rock band or something. Also, I am making this post right now using an MP3 player. Technology, I say, What The Hell.
Finally, lookit! Zombies!
I’m still unclear on what exactly they mean when they say they’re looking for a “cure for death”. Making the undead alive again? Making all the dead undead?
(TUNE: “Tramp, Tramp, Tramp (The Prisoner’s Hope)”, George F. Root)
In the city streets at night, you can see us run in fright,
We’re escaping from the army of undead!
But afflictions they have got, bugs and fungus, mold and rot!
They’re not chasing, they’re just raising funds instead!
Lurch! Lurch! Lurch! Here come the zombies!
Help them now to find the cures!
They don’t want to fall apart, so to help them out is smart,
Please contribute, have a heart, or they’ll have yours!
