See, Entelechy, singular or plural, just make me think
“Can you hear me? Do not be alarmed. I mean you no harm. I wish only to hear your words. Share your feelings. Know your thoughts. May we please… be friends?”
Non-sapient drones, they assume. So Nick’s making them all go “boom.” Abusing his powers makes for fireworks showers. And for Nick and for Ginny—“Love in Bloom.”
Yes, U.N.I.T.Y., we knew. Today is the day you finally forgave your creator.
I’m picturing Unity saying “My creator has achieved entelechy! MWAHAHAHAHA!“
See, Entelechy, singular or plural, just make me think

Nice 4th of July display. No matter what day of the year it is. 🙂
It’s only a little late for lunar New Year.
I like Virginia’s patience and restraint in not rolling her eyes in the first panel as she confirms that yes, DRONES are not manned craft…
Well, USUALLY not manned. “Quarter-ton payload” is a versatile feature … and Ira one to make creative use of such.
I LOVE how eager she looks whens she says “make them go boom”.
I totally admit, if it were me, I’d be making little “EEEEEEE!!!” noises like a kid at a fireworks display.
There’s a short story called “The Feeling of Power” which is all about figuring out how to man things which really should be unmanned.
Asimov, 1950s, where he predicted the calculator.
Martin Woodhouse’s 1966 espionage novel has (spoiler) a small manned aircraft the intelligence agency announces is an unmanned drone.
I think a few hundred drones going boom would look better than most fireworks.
I would have kept a few, just in case.
Nice! And what a beautiful fourth panel!
I especially like the shadow effect showing how bright the collective explosions are!
All except #20, who is into phenomenology…
A philosophical drone? There should be a contradiction in there somewhere.
A reference to “Dark Star”, in which a bomb not only Smart but Eager, is taught Phenomenology to keep it from going off…
“Teach it phenomenology, Doolittle.”

Best student film ever
for some reason on this comic is when my mind connected these words so now yall must have them too : UwU.N.I.T.Y.
Awww, they’re already finishing each other’s sentences … How sweet.
That was my thought too. 🙂
So when Nick and Dr. Lee made out, there were fireworks.
I get complaints if I do that…..indoors….
People tend to complain if you make out outdoors as well.
I thought I recognized you!!
Everyone’s a critic
Or they’re just jealous.
Then all you’ve got to worry about is hi-res satellite photography.
the shadow government force, gone rogue, is becoming beautifully shadowy again.
I wonder if Ira is exclaiming “That’s IMPOSSIBLE!” or smiling “All according to plan.”?
In this strip, the I word is not used without consequence, if only a visit from an obnoxious denizen of St. Charlie…
“INCONCIEVABLE!”
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn, Nick… Hmm; wonder if he could do that with sattelites?
Also, that last panel is BEAUTIFUL. Very simple and perfect.
♫ Skyyyy rockets in flight! ♬
Afternoon delight!
*sadface* No drone synchronized flight airshow at the wedding. or at all.
On the upside: fireworks!
On the downside: Missed opportunity to have the fireworks form the pattern of [OBSCENITY] [ANASIGMA LOGO]
Too bad there’s not a soundtrack. Something like this just begs for the 1812 Overture.
Or, conversely, the 1812 Overture is just begging for something like this.
“Things that Make You Go ‘Boom?'”
1812 will have to battle Hekla for dibs.
An impressive – if not slightly disturbing – piece of music. But 1812 has seniority.
Love that last panel! The shadows look great!
Ginny should have told him to run “Clean Slate”
Nick has become a bona fide hero!
Non-sapient drones, they assume. So Nick’s making them all go “boom.” Abusing his powers makes for fireworks showers. And for Nick and for Ginny—“Love in Bloom.”
Kinda Van Gogh right there.
