Sweetheart LIKES Applebee’s? Girl’s got strange tastes.

      Yes, Sweetheart has strange tastes.

      “I get to visit AKRON?”

It took you this long to notice?

Sweetheart may be a product of mad science, but it’s Canadian mad science.

    The wall scroll says “Sanity”?

So I’m confused. This is Anasigma. They made the drone. Why does no one recognize her? I thought she was a pretty high-up operative when Mr. Green was running her.

      1 word: Hairdo.

Perhaps the drone was patterned after an actual person, a mad genius named Darling. Not, I think, the inventor of the (in)famous weapon of that name; a descendant of one of the famous explorers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries seems more likely. There was a play written about them, I think. ^_^

Has anyone in Anasigma apart from Virginia, Sergio and Mr. Green actually encountered the drone?

I picture Anasigma as the sort of organisation where you don’t hear anything about other parts of the business and don’t expect to. If Mr. Green doesn’t want any of the staff here to know who “Dr. Darling” is, it will be so.

There’s no way to guess what someone who can see into all possible futures wants to happen right now.

Of course the higher-ups recognize the drone. Mr. Green, for instance, would have her pegged immediately. However, he’s running a ploy to get Skin Horse back in the game. The inmates? The general staff? Not so much.

Maybe it’s to their advantage to pretend for now that they don’t recognize her.

Don’t they believe it was destroyed? At the end of St. Charlie, Mr. Green set it to self-destruct, and later congratulated Dr. Lee on her escape.

That applebees joke was dryer than the joke about approving the use of spark cure in cannons. I’ve been meaning to get that off my chest, the cure – cannon thing.

I too found the idea of mads curing each other disturbing.

Is anyone else not at all weirded out by the fact that the staff apparently stripped, and then massaged an (apparently) unconscious woman?

    • dornbeast
      January 24, 2015, 3:23 am | # | Reply

If somebody introduces himself as “madman,” I’m inclined to think that he’s not part of the staff.

Other than that, yeah – weirded out sounds about right.

What I have to wonder is if the staff indeed stripped her, would it not have been immediately apparent that the body was not that of a human being? After all, Nick referred to it as “way too low-res.”

As for Dr. Ao, it has been posited that he is, in fact, Mr. Green himself (or more likely another drone operated by Mr. Green), so he would have immediately recognised the Violet drone, but chose to ignore it since he always has a larger agenda than whatever is going on at the time.

This thread is going to leave use with the blues, isn’t it? Or just turn purple with rage. Call me yellow, but I’m out of here before it get any worse.

Otori? So, when do the highly-symbolic-and-very-surreal sword fights on top of the building start? :B

Oh man, I totally forgot that was the name of the school in Utena! Though I guess in both cases it should be spelled Ootori or Ohtori or Otori with a line over the O.

The widespread acceptance of Applebee’s as being “food” is how I know we live on a prison planet.

I agree. Various tropes occur to me at this point, but I’ll spare us all the typing.

I’m going to assume that he managed to build all of that and the rest of the stuff he mentioned is a crazy fantasy.

Also, upon reflection, I think widespread dispersal of the Cure might actually create a bigger problem for humans. I mean, the sentient bears, talking tigers, and more dangerous things can, currently, try various forms of legal means to try to integrate into our society.

If we can no longer see them, they don’t really have any other options aside from killing us. And we’ll have handed them impeccable camouflage.

eh, most of ’em will just die of old age eventually or break down. The only long term threat would be ones designed to breed/replicate, like Sweetheart’s pack.

Ao Otori is Japanese for “blue decoy”.
