Perhaps Whimsy Corp has developed a successor to VR Whimsy World they’d like tested?

Everybody has vintage Pac-Man. Let me know when they score Battlezone.

When they get a multi-player Battlezone, I’ll give you the first shot.

Given the choice, what percentage of humanity would choose to upload themselves to VR?

My thoughts exactly. Is it virtual heaven? Or is it the VR hell where Nick, Lovelace, and Baron went to find Aimee? Or is it the one where Sweetheart blew up the planet?

The long-running webcomic “Requiem” postulated what would happen if everyone was “uploaded”: http://requiem.spiderforest.com/?comic=2014-11-18

This is why we chose a consensus reality, where only Adepts armed with Truth can alter the fabric.

“Did you know that the first Matrix was designed to be a perfect human world? Where none suffered, where everyone would be happy. It was a disaster. No one would accept the program, entire crops were lost.”

        Fair enough.
Utopian societies are possible but by definition become stagnant. Nix.
Mirroring our current civilization is straightforward but non-viable. Nix.
Reverting to a Neolithic hunter/gatherer culture is essentially early retirement. Nix.
So for the sake of argument let’s go with a magical kingdom ruled by an enlightened monarchy. 😉

If you’re really going to put all your (non-hip) eggs in one basket, it better be a pretty well defended basket.

Given the Disney parallels and the chapter title, I’m guessing this is somehow going to be similar to the chalk drawings sequence in Mary Poppins.

Not a Cirque de Soleil wheel of death or a Dumbo jump with a feather

There also just happens to be a magical world made of its inhabitants’ imaginations conveniently positioned for the characters to jump into whenever they want.

Alright, if the CD simulation is an Android afterlife/safe haven/whatever, and Baron Mistycorn is guarding it and helping other robots in, does that make him a psychopomp?

Maybe he should get a little boat to ride around in. He’s already a pale colored horse (sort of).
