You can see Sweetheart’s mouth open in the first panel, meaning she was the one talking, so she’s also the one being talked back to. Some zombies really don’t like outsiders.
jdreyfuss: There’s a small chance that she has an issue with “gub’mint outsiders” because she has been attacking the other zombies.
I don’t think zombies explain the state of the meat cleaver. A pie could explain it, but, if the knife you’ve used is like that, the pie needs a bit more time in the oven.
To be fair, in Unity’s mind a blood spattered cleaver could be a fashion accessory.
I mean, it’s not entirely clear it’s blood, and not rust…
Some thanks for evacuating them to the Habakkuk and returning them later. Unless Miss Cleaver didn’t go.
“Knife to meat you!”
“Care for a mince?”
Do UNITY nanite swarms breathe?

What does the writing in the upper-right corner of the strip say?
It looks to be a signature of some sort.
SKG JCW 20. Took me a lot of squinting to figure out it was Ms. Garrity’s and Mr. Wells’s signature.
They switched to initials at some point in 2009. They were a lot harder to decipher at webcomic scale before then.
I’m stealing “Good Cop Bad-at-Reading-the-Room Cop.” Useful and funny as hell.
They do say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!
