Haven’t you ever heard the little ditty kids used to sing – “Gotta Boogey”?

That was also one of Weird Al’s early songs.

Yes… hence Pygar’s YouTube link just below, and my comment that that was what I was thinking of. Don’t you read ahead in the comments before you respond?

“Bogey” is a Briticism for clots of nasal mucus.

‘Bogey’ is Humphrey Bogart’s nickname… though what he’s doing up Bea’s nose is anyone elses guess 😛

“Bogies” are the road wheel assemblies on tanks.

Pull down their pants and reveal their bulbous abdomens and venomous stingers!
Weave straw into a skep and leave it for them to build a hive in!
Then use smoke to drive them away from the hive, and steal their precious honey!

      Do it! DO IT!

Actually, I have to wonder, what the heck does Dr. Lee see when she looks at the glasses-wearers from the side. Does she really not notice that the glasses merge with the face? Or does it not look that way to her?

There was a short period back in the 1940s when Disney did let Mickey’s ears work in proper perspective…

Much like a bee keeps sacks of pollen in its tiny knees? Note also that her shirt has a flower. AAAnd, skee ball is much like trying to get at the center of a flower. Hmm…

Is now a good time to mention that in several stories in which bees are the guardians of entry points to other worlds, and symbols for re-birth?

Every single one of them has a floral aspect to their outfit. The Seer has a floral bandana and a flower in her hair (Above her ear). Bea has a flower on her swimsuit. Melanie has multiple flowers on her shirt. And Ms Apis has a small flower designed on her shirt (Ignoring her gardening tendencies entirely)

Speaking of green, I started wondering if the five women might also correspond to the four regions+center of Oz. Going by hair/hat colors, Melanie/Beatrix/Apis seem to be yellow/lime green/blue, and thus Winkie/Oz/Munchkin. But Delphi throws that off by wearing a dark green headscarf with red?ish flowers. Also, Delphi was the site of the Omphalos, which is of course the center, so maybe she corresponds to Oz?

On the other hand, going by clothing color (and ignoring the pink flowers), Melanie/Beatrix/Apis are blue/yellow/purple, corresponding to Munchkin/Winkie/Gillikin. Delphi confuses things again with that clashing purple whatever she has on, but there does seem to be a greenish top underneath, which again would point vaguely to Oz.

Anyway, I suspect that Mayor Queen will either have red hair, or wear red.

(Now watch Shaenon deliberately mess with that by having Queen wear, I dunno, yellow and black, and having a rainbow mohawk.)

    Maybe I’m overthinking things again.

Speaking of overthinking, the initials of everyone are BMADQ.

      Be MAD to Quit?

Bees Missing A Direction [need a] Queen?

Oh, and the rot13 of that is OZNQD. Probably just a coincidence. Probably.

“BMADQ”? Bees Might All Die Quickly? Bring Mell And Dave to the Queen?

“OZNQD”? OZ Needs a Queen Desperately?

Yeah, I suspect you might be overthinking things. But don’t we all? …Including the authors? If things were simple, they wouldn’t be interesting.

I feel Virginia may still need to learn that there’s a difference between abusing bugs and <exploiting them.

Credit where due: Clifton first suggested that Virginia might need to get them all to dance, 2018-10-13.

And the reason it might be right is that maybe all the components all need to be doing the same thing at the same time. Synchronized dancing in order to sync their minds all up, as it were.

But I don’t think it can work unless Mayor Queen joins in.

Does Virginia actually know how to gavotte? The swarm may re-integrate as a new personality if they do a different dance.

    Campbellock, maybe?
