…I never thought of it before and now can’t unthink it.

Ohmygoodness, yes. Jeff and Shaenon, PLEASE MAKE TIP’S GOTH PHASE CANON! And then make comics about it!

Please make Tip with phase cannons! So we don’t have to worry about what he pulls out of puppetspace any more…

    Don’t knock the boots.

    Or, you know, do.

I was thinking… Do you remember how Rosalind was in trouble over inviting her mirror universe self to a party? I’m starting to think she just heard the story from this trip from sergio at one dinner party and then though “hey! that’s cool!”.
Wether she used an already-built gate or improvised one with scraps around her home (unusual as them might be), that’s another story…

Thought Skin Horse was just a place the Army stashed him when he started, well…you know…

No, that’s Tip’s uncharacteristically self deprecating explanation. He actually did get recruited.

But, I imagine, the Army was pretty glad to see him recruited out of their hair…

So, ‘Our’ Tip’s special contribution was the cute boots? And A-Tip brought the rage? o_O

The combat training you get while dealing with school children is good, but not quite up to army standards. I’d consider her a talented amateur to Tip’s professional.
The conflict resolution under fire is, of course, more intensive, so they’ve got complimentary skills.

It’s interesting that the two Tips’ skin tones aren’t the same.

Well Tip’R *has* been spending copious time out of doors in this timeline.

Their noses are also completely different. They seem more like siblings than true alternates.

Looks like Alt-Tip took after the other parent. Or the other set of grandparents. (I look like my father and maternal grandfather; my brother looks like dad’s side of the family.)

Yeah, it works like that sometimes. My sister and I have basically no physical characteristics in common. We’re mixed race technically so we don’t even have the same skin tone even if the difference isn’t huge.

Looks like they have the same or similar cheekbones

Not to mention hair color, height, vision (unless our Tip’s glasses are non-prescription or the alternate has lost or broken hers)…

Those three are more easily explained. I’d be surprised to learn that Tip doesn’t dye his hair, the glasses you already covered (though there’s also the possibility of our Tip having damaged his eyesight) and height is just a normal difference between genders – usually women are shorter than men even if they share the same genes.

Noses though… noses I don’t have a convenient explanation for, though god knows there could be one and I just don’t know about it.

Given that Ozma has an entirely different chromosomal assortment (it’s not like there’s any rule that JUST the Y chromosome was different) them looking like siblings rather than alternates is actually unexpectedly realistic.

Wait, female Tip was in Skin Horse? Was that a given?

and why didn’t we see her rather than Sergio in the first strip.

Well I think it could be assumed from how she instinctively responded to Sweetheart.

So Rebecca was in Skin Horse. I guess that explains why she wasn’t reality-blind to Sweetheart calling

You’ve got cause and effect backwards; not being reality-blind to Sweetheart was a test of Tip before joining Skin Horse, not a result of it.

Except only 20% of people are reality blind.

Given the group dynamic and some of the missions they had gone on, having a schoolteacher on staff makes more and more sense. She probably took over Sweetheart’s job of herding the cats (literal and figurative).

That, or they just get along and the sanity of the team is increased.

Which just goes to show: in this multiverse, sanity is NOT a survival trait :p

well when I first saw the tips together I thought probably the rugged out door life had made the alternate bulkier, our timp being a bit on the willowy side. Can’t see why they can’t have a little fun together, they are from different universes and all, bet nobody would have complained if tip A had been a tentacled bug eyes monster and they had slept together
    hmmm maybe thats next week……
