    Well, I never!
Sweetheart didn’t even BOTHER to acknowledge The Hat.

Since the leeches are now full of her goo, they are after all part of her. And perhaps she finds it fun to experience her own nose from the inside.

This was surprisingly low-key: I was expecting some sort of rescue-KT battle. We’re all sure that she hasn’t been hollowed out and filled with swamp while out of sight, right?

So, swamp zombies are inhabited by parts of the swamp(most likely algae and microorganisms), in the same way that Unity is inhabited by the nano-goo.

Now there’s two sentences I didn’t expect to hear when I woke up this morning.

Although I suppose that technically speaking, I still haven’t heard them.

That thought hadn’t occurred to me. Being able to crawl through your own body WOULD be interesting, in a really weird and gross kind of way…

Truly a love story for the ages – seriously, that’s a great pic of Sweetheart in panel 3.

The grass is always greener at the end of a sewer pipe … that’s just lying there out in the open…. Is that how California is working to reduce pollution in the Bay?

I don’t think that’s a sewer pipe; I think it’s just an air vent. Drainage systems are incredibly complex things–for the STUFF to flow downhill, you need to allow air (and zombies) into and out of the system at appropriate points.

I think you’re right. It’s the high hat.

Seems to work on a more macro scale than Unity: IIRC they’ve got vines and stuff on the inside.

    (TUNE: “Anything Goes”, Cole Porter)

    Now Unity has
    Saved K.T., her
    Team leader is
    Glad to see her
    In spite of those …
    Leeches in nose!

    A happy Sweetheart
    Saw her buddy come,
    Whether she’s smart
    Or really dumb!
    Spirits rose!
    Leeches in nose!

     Now her blood has lots
     Of these nanobots,
     And they call the shots!
     Nothing ever rots!
     So these parasites
     With their tiny bites
     Will never decompose …

    So if those leeches
    Gain intelligence,
    They can make speeches,
    Sing and dance,
    Put on shows!
    Leeches in nose!

A combination of your awesomeness and my spending too much time with ghosts means I keep getting disappointed that I can’t +1 your filks.

I think that U.N.I.T.Y. may retain some of her extra brains anyway. That was a surprisingly insightful comment from her.

Hmm… I suspect she only forgets what’s stored in the brains her stomach digests. The less brains she eats at once, the more goes into her original (Mell-)brain…

That, or she’s developing a tolerance. That would be scary.

She has a pretty small nose. I’m sure Sweetheart is thinking, “how many leeches could there possibly be?”

At least they didn’t go down her throat. I’ve heard of people choking that way.

In Response to Ser Pentrose, wouldn’t a Filk +1 be very dangerous? Think of the brain damage to all the listeners, since most minds are only armored against non-magical humor.

I’ve noticed that it looks kind of like Sweetheart’s line in panel 4 is spoken by the sewer pipe, and now I can’t unsee it.

It’s like reverse Mark Trail, where it actually is the foreground animals that are talking, not someone in the architecture in the background.

*shudder* Parasitiphobia and trying to ignore Unity’s sinuses filled with certain… objects, means I’m SUPER ITCHY.
