I see Aimee’s destiny is to be the intrepid NPC who gets destroyed demonstrating how the monster/trap/villain works. T_T
And Nick? If you want to make a fast talk roll now would be a good time saying that in person would be a good time to compare notes and make plans before doing anything about this. >_>
I was assuming that they would both take the possibilities of hacking and net surveillance for granted, but you’re right. They might be unworldly enough not to think it could happen to them or they might be overconfident enough to think that they can 100% rely upon their precautions or both.
I always think it prudent to take a “Never put *anything* on the Net that you would mind broadcasting to the entire universe” attitude towards things but Aimee at least might very well be the sort who would share everything she is doing with her friends on Facebook and still expect it to be a mystery to the rest of the world. u_u
And if it were Lovelace, that would explain her reluctance to meet in person. She got so burned with Dave that way. And Lovelace would be a great match for him, aside from my still pushing for the Virginia/Biscuit match
I’m also noting that “Aimee” means “beLOVEd” – etymologically connected to the “aime” (“[I] love”) in French – put together with Mental Mouse’s “A.I. me” pun below, and there’s too many ways this connects to Lovelace. Be on the watch for Aimee having a last name that puns with “Lace”.
Nick is trying. He speaks up with forthright intent. This is real progress. If he keeps it up (heh) sooner or later he will have the good luck that leads to finding out exactly how many ways there are to stimulate pleasure.
Aimee’s “font” is just italics, which Shaennon uses with the zig-zag tail to show telespeaking. I don’t think it means anything – Nick’s italics are to show his frustration.

These are geeks. That just leads to “Oh I already shared a Google Doc with your e-mail about it.

… oh, and by the way, I’m a helicopter.
Poor Nick; I’d really like to see the Universe cut him some slack some day. Wouldn’t it be cool if ‘Aimee’ was actually a certain AI named Lovelace?
That,…would be 100% cool and Lovelace, in spite of her displaced anger at Madblood, deserves a little karmic slack as well. ^_^
Agreed.

“Tatting is a technique for handcrafting a particularly durable lace from a series of knots and loops.”
Aimee Tatting has a lovely ring to it, don’t you think?
A daughter?
…or a clone?
And a thought strikes… “Aimee”… or “A.I. me”?

Ah, if only we had a face to put with the name and voice…
Is that Nick continuing his comments in Panel 4- in Aimee’s font?!

As I recall, Lovelace didn’t swear either. I think the gang may be onto something here.
How’s that song go? If it wasn’t for bad luck, he’d have no luck at all.
Nah, Nick’s just a screw-up. Fortunately for him, he’s starting to figure that out, and he’s working on getting a clue. 😀
I’m wondering if he’s trying to ask her out or if he’s trying to get tips on how to be more well-spoken so he can ask Victoria out.
“If I had a nickel . . .”
You’d have ten cents, Nick.
“Which isn’t much but it’s weird that it happened twice.”
