Wow you’d have to be a mind reader to tell she’s upset

She’s yelling at me and accusing me of two murders I basically confessed to. Thankfully, I can use my psychic powers to determine her emotional state.

spin those ‘b’s around 180 degrees in the last word, Panoptica, and you’ll have a much more accurate summation of my opinion on the matter.

So, what you’re saying is that your personality is a self-perpetuating cycle?

People wish you ill, you act terrible, more people wish you ill?

“Thou calledst me dog before thou hadst a cause.
But since I am a dog, beware my fangs.”

In this case, though, perhaps a more gender-specific term for ‘dog’ is in order.

I think Sweetheart would probably object to calling Panoptica either of those things.

        More like:

“Thou actst as dog before thou hadst a cause.
But since thou artst a dog, thou shalt be put down”

Despite how badly I butchered the original quote.

Any chance she’s testing Jonah’s precog out in the wild? Perhaps she knows that Jonah is just really bad at doing interviews.

They were recruiting him, and he gave a flat “No.” Or rather, a very sparky “No.” I think she and Mr. Green are in agreement that an uncontrolled precog is very dangerous, regardless of whether or not they’re knowingly working together.

Come on, Panoptica, “You have no proof’ isn’t a denial. It’s never been a denial. It’s more an admission of guilt than a denial!
Anyway with that said I was going through the last few weeks and realized that if AG-I is compromised, and Shelby is actually part of AG-I, he could be the one who compromised AG-I in the first place. I don’t think it’s ever been questioned why Shelby and his car are who Jonah saw to be Mr. Green and his car.

The question about the car was brought up in conversation at some point, but since we haven’t been given any more to go on, the idea kind of died right there where it lay.

    RAMPAGE.

PS- CIWS is radar guided, and Nick did have a tiny amount of pre-cog warning, so Nick could have popped reflective chaff (which he is plausibly equipped with), which dispersed, tricking the system into thinking he was destroyed. It’s not like anyone is bothering with visual confirmation here. Captain’s Fancy Valentine Sweetheart can still rampage if she wants though. I’m all for bio-dog rampages.

I don’t know whether Sweetheart rampaging would be a good thing in this situation. We’ve seen what she’s capable of, and if she did that again, they might all be in trouble, seeing as they’re on a ship that’s uniquely vulnerable to spilled coffee.

Even if she spilled a Venti (and liked it), I can’t imagine it would have much effect on a ship that size, especially when you consider that the ship is constantly cooling itself.

PS, I’m empathic too, and I can feel Sweetheart is thinking “My jaws could free your soft, squishy trachea from its flesh prison with such ease. It would be easy. Drag your body to the edge and deep-six it. Except for the blood trail (which UNITY could probably clean up/devour with nanite efficiency), no one even has to know. But there’d be so much paperwork.”

Panel Three implies that Panoptica doesn’t think Sweetheart is a person.

Semantics. She seems to be differentiating between animals and humans. She just used a poor word choice to make the distinction.

She still said that animals are not people. Freudian slip or deliberate choice, it is how she thinks.

Considering she’s (presumably) high-level AG-I, she either is conditioned, or does the conditioning, to think that non-humans — sapient or not — are lesser beings.

So yes, you’re both right. I was merely pointing out that in this case, she seems to be making only a distinction of species, not a hierarchal distinction.

If she’s not part of the conspiracy, Panoptica is going to feel very, very stupid when the truth comes to light. If she is part of the conspiracy, she’s still going to feel a bit unplussed for being caught at it.

And this is why I don’t like Panoptica.

Not the fact she’s in the pocket of Mr.Green mind you.

But that she’s so damn smug about knowing how to read everyone around her, and damn intrusive about it too.
