That’s because it’s not the comment that’s timing out, but the notifications. That’s why, even if you select “Notify me of follow-up comments via email”, you still get nothing.

Now, Tip’s back in our hotel room and hanging with undead,
But we’ve gone out to do what we’re supposed to do instead …
We’re gonna find the low-down dirt before this night is through!
Oh, Du-u-ty …
We’ll do what we must do!
Tip’s getting information, and he’s good at that, I guess …
But you and I are getting to the bottom of this mess!
A Skin Horse agent’s life is more than partying and fun!
Oh, Du-u-ty …
We’ll do what must be done!
We’ll find the hidden truth behind the mirrors and the smoke!
(Hey, didn’t “Wreck-It Ralph” employ this same old silly joke?)
It’s public service, Unity! That’s what this job’s about!
Oh, Du-u-ty …
Let’s flush the bad guys out!
Not everybody flaps their intervocalic alveolar stops. I wonder if there are people out there (from England, say) who still don’t get the joke? ‘Duty’ sounds like ‘doody’ = poo.
So now there’s a wastewater treatment plant in a story with a bunch of zombies in it? That … kinda reminds me of home.
No, really. When I was in high school, along Route 10 between Hanover and West Lebanon, NH, there used to be a sign identifying a certain location as “Pine Knoll Cemetery and Wastewater Treatment Plant.”
Eventually they changed the sign, but why it took them so long, I never figured out.
Any word on the Narbonic archive situation? I just got a friend interested in it (brought up the ‘mist rises at dawn so do the mutant gerbils where the hell am i’ in a discussion about haiku), but then remembered that the archives were down.
“I hope we’re doing something just as cool…”
“We are. It’s called ‘duty.'”
“But Babe, duty’s WARM, isn’t it?”
*falls through trap door*

Huh.. how’d this post twice?
Sometimes the page returns a “…process timed out” message even though your comment posted. If you re-submit you post twice.
Mine always times out for some reason.
Then again, it always posts, too, so yay?
That’s because it’s not the comment that’s timing out, but the notifications. That’s why, even if you select “Notify me of follow-up comments via email”, you still get nothing.
“Refreshing” the page instead of re-submitting the comment usually works for me.
Duty is _best_ served warm.
Unity being Unity, she *might* end up considering this just as cool! ^_^

So of course the ones investigating the sewage plant are the person with the best sense of smell, and the one that smells the worst….
I bet they meet Flukeman.
ZOMBIE Flukeman!

…yes. Where I grew up, we pronounced “duty” as “dyoo’ee”. (That’s a glo”al stop!)
Doo-tee? Dyoo-tee? Dyoo-dee?

It’s adorable that Sweetheart thinks that her forbearance could ever stop Tip’s “hobnobbing”.
