The real question is: did the agents have spiffy uniforms while the agency was being destroyed? If so, maybe it was worth it.

So now she has the knowledge that could potentially let her realize her errors and avoid that future. But as a member of skin horse her personality will prevent her from realizing it. Will Sergio be able to use that knowledge to save skin horse?

So what happened to their Sweetheart after she ran their Skin Horse into the ground? In our world…promotions and raises?

Did the apocalypse happen simultaneously? cause if so it was probably involved more screaming than promotions. Was Unity part of skin horse when the apocalypse happened?

Sweetheart wasn’t seen in the alternate Colma swamp monster scenes—that much I know.

Well, as the Apocalypse was brought on by Skin Horse’s handling of the Colma incident, and as the Colma incident was handled by Unity poisoning the swamp… Id say, yes.

Sweatheart wasn’t seen in the alternative Colma scenes but then again in the original scenes she was elsewhere as well. Differences: Sergio was there instead of Tip. Unity ate English’s brain rather than leaving a note to her un-smart self. English was killed by Unity eating his brain rather than by a crocodile. KT was eaten by the crocodile after all. Unity stayed smart and didn’t have her revelation. Unity poisoned the swamp rather then getting English to redirect the sewers to feed it. Emperor Norton warned Unity to consider the consequences which she did not do.

It’d be funny if the apocalypse had nothing to do with the swamp but rather whom the crocodile ate.

Meant to say “Sweetheart” wasn’t in the scenes—tried to delete and repost but it didn’t take.

Looks like it did. I’ll be quiet now.

Hate it when that happens. No worries, the comment section is infested with web gremlins.

So wait a second… if the disaster was brought on by Alt!Unity’s mishandling of the Colma situation… why was Alt!Sweetheart in charge of Skin Horse? Did Gavotte get sidelined earlier in this timeline?

I think it’s more likely the team spent less time apart before being reunited with sweetheart in charge, and the Colma incident was more of a slow-burn problem then an immediate catastrophe.

Like the chemicals in the toxin combined with surviving microorganisms from the cyprus and Unity’s nano-goop to produce the plague, but it simmered for many months before escaping.

…or it’s a different timeline. If parallel universes allow splits going back decades yet parallels only going back 1 or 2 years, all bets are off.

I’m beginning to like Manifesta’s avatar here. Cynical, yet still willing to give the benefit of the doubt.

At least she knew what to say to pique Sweetheart’s interest. Now they just have to get her to research her alternate history. By making her do it herself, it will force her to believe what she finds.

I’ve lost track of what we saw from which universe when and who travelled where.

Let’s call the universe we’ve been reading since the start Universe A.

The look into Alternate Colma, let’s call Universe 1.

The stuff with Sweetheart taking Bubbles for a ride in a mad bin, and taking over Skin Horse, was that Universe A, Universe 1, or Universe Alpha?

Is this now Universe A visiting Universe 1? Universe A visiting Universe Unknown? Universe Man hating Triangle Man?

Pretty sure that Sweetheart taking Bubbles for a ride was Universe A, with the confusion of large parts of that arc taking place in VR (which IMHO shouldn’t count as a Universe), and then the additional question of whether Choose will prove to have pulled us through a multitude alternate universes already. (Did Dave smoke in any of them?)

If they have a fight, Universe Man wins.

      Powerful man, Universe Man.

(Sorry, I had to do it. The windmills scared me. Because, y’know, They Might Be Giants.)

    Ditto.

The Bubbles ride was a VR and not an alternate universe. (Although I think it was the second ride that was a VR and the first ride was genuine.) In that universe, universe A, our universe, the main storyline universe Sweatheart *is* made head of Skin Horse and this story begins during her very early days as head. This *is* our reality.

Mr. Green and Sergio watch many alternate universes but we don’t see much detail. In all Dr. Lee is kind to Sergio so Sergio who viewed these alternative universes choose her as an ally. (I made the mistaken assumption that Sergio was from a Universe 3 although I think I was mistaken about that.)

So we have only seen: Universe 1 in which mirror image Unity poisoned the Swamp.
In Universe A, Sergio has gathered all the characters we know and love and they all go to Universe York where the Soviets did the Miracle on Ice, York Steak House still exists, and Skin Horse’s handling of the Swamp Enitity in Colma destroyed civilization. Now, all of us, are going on the assumption that Universe 1 (Smart Unity destroys the swamp) and Universe York (Female Tip and all men killed in Coitus) are the same universe. This is a reasonable assumption but we might still get the rug pulled out from under us. Just saying.

So in this strip, we have Sweatheart of Universe A, *our* Sweatheart who *is* head of the new (and untrustworthy) Skin Horse asking about the Sweatheart of Universe York (which is presumably Universe 1) and is excited to here that in Universe York Sweatheart is high-ranking.

Yes, but doesn’t she spell it “Sweetheart” with three “e”s?
