Considering that Lovelace uses the word “luge” (which implies a craft much more akin to the Matterhorn’s toboggans, quite unlike the makeshift saucer sleds seen here), I’m inclined to agree.
The laws of physics aren’t that prescriptive. If the dinosaur is light enough (say, if it’s mostly made of plywood and paper), it could float around on the breeze for a little while first.
I feel they’re all going to end up in a heap one way or another, though.
I accept this as a tribute to Shield Surfing in Zelda BOTW which is hot right now.
It does bear a striking resemblance to what happened to me when I tried to get a Korok seed over the Tahno O’ah shrine.
I am more reminded of the escape from the Roc in Dreamworks Sinbad movie.
It reminded me of the scene in Willow where Madmartigan escapes from the Nockmaar camp.
I was thinking of Calvin and Hobbes’ endless trips down the snowy hills, often with similar results to what’s happening here.
Yeah, you don’t want to get inadvertently thagomized.
Poor, poor Thag. Taken from us too soon.
I’m going to assume Nick’s last comment is a reference to the Matterhorn ride at Disneyland. I went on that one once. Just once. Yeouch!
BTW, the dinosaur is looking cuter every panel. <3

Wait, Nick defines “sucks” as a cuss word?
Or Whimsy’s VR system does.
Or he just happened to choose a different word here.
When you consider where that meaning of “suck” must have come from…
“Pork” got defined as a cuss word after he uses it enough.
(It is hard to explain to someone why you are laughing so hard at “pork pork pork pork pork pork pork pork pork mukluk.”)
“Don’t land on the dinosaur.” Sound advice, my lad, in any period; but particularly the cretaceous.
IIRC the stegosaurus was Jurassic.
If the rules of physics apply, they should all hit the ground at the same time, Nick and Lovelace and Boney and shield sled.
But I forget they’re in a VR world. Who knows what rules apply?
In this situation, the rules of AWESOME and EXTREME.
Don’t forget “comic effect”, which requires at least one of them to end up in a giant snowball.
Those are the VR rules. The law of Funny is inherent to the comic and the world they inhabit.

That’s really more like skeleton than luge. 😛
