Shaenon, your only hope is tag-teaming them. You go for a couple hours while Andrew sleeps, then it’s his turn for a couple hours, and by the next morning baby is sound asleep while the two of you are at least not going to be mistaken for zombies. Remember: tag-teaming. If it’s good enough for the WWE, it’s good enough for us.
Augh. The Looking. The hours I have sat in a darkened room with a baby whose eyes are open and whose level of wakefulness is much, much better than mine…

See? See, nyao? Two-legger kittens are even more evil than kitty kittens! There’s only one thing to do in a situation like that–let him play with a gerbil plushie!
Well, at least he’s not crying.
I think you should just leave him unless he’s crying. If you are asleep in the same room he may be more likely to sleep too.
If it’s the quiet ones you have to look out for, at least he’s giving you plenty of warning.

The BKITU and I second the tag-teaming suggestion.
Those horrible eyes that peer into your soul…
Yes. Yes. Very much yes.
Can’t wait till he makes his debut in the regular strip…
I’m glad you’re doing “Sanity Strips” (doodling); anything to keep your sanity, Andrew and Shaenon.

As a Gran’Pa I suggest driving the baby to sleep.
OMG the looking phase. I say give him something to look AT. That worked for me
Night time was the hardest. That’s why my husband did nights for all three.
Huh, I wonder if that has any bearing on his insomnia. I wonder.

He has a lot of world to absorb.
