      “But Panini’s a herbivore.”

“THAT’S JUST HOW ANNOYING IRA IS!”

…or alternately, then Tip just pulled out the pistol he always has tucked away on his person and double-tapped Ira, one in the lungs, one in the head?

Gosh, you guys are Merc-iless! I *like* Ira!

I mean really – what has he done that’s so bad?

Plenty. Rather it’s worse than what the other side did the question.

That Anasigma might not need the reality-blindness machine running indefinitely hadn’t occurred to me, before now, but, on reflection, I think it makes sense: Anasigma wants nonhuman sapients to be feared, and feared they will be, once the public awakens from its stupor to find that the Biomass has devoured an entire state…

Plus the army of Unity-drones rising against the Biomass, plus the caprices of Tigerlily… A-sig’s done a good job of making sure the threats are nice and visible.

      Depends on the state.

I could name a few. Your list might vary.

I have a friend in Sharon. I wouldn’t want to lose them.

I mean, given how fully Xanatos Roulette Ira has been going, surprising him with anything is an accomplishment.

I would pit Tigerlily against him any day. She’s so unpredictable that even she doesn’t know what she’s going to do next.

Even Mr. Green acknowledges Tigerlily is beyond his ken by dismissing her as threat level zero.

The Maragda Building isn’t very tall. None of the buildings in DC are very tall (something about preserving the appearance of the Washington Monument) but the ones around the Maragda Building seem to tower over it.

Imagine telling an entire city you can’t be taller than x height or my nation’s phallus will look small.

Obelisks symbolize the primordial mound upon which the god Atum stood at the creation of the world. It was ancient Egyptian middle-schoolers who started that whole phallus story.

Usually i expect mounds to be more breast-like in appearance and less phallic, but then primordial times were a different time i suppose.

I don’t know much about the Washington Monument, but I’m pretty sure its promoters didn’t believe Atum stood on a primordial mound at the creation of the world.

The obelisk form must have meant something to the people who commissioned it, though.

Given the variety of paintings and sculptures of George Washington being the equivalent of a Marvel Superhero and GOD, I tend toward the phallic interpretation of the Washington Monument.

If you’ve checked out the Washington Monument, an obelisk five hundred fifty five feet tall, be sure and check out the memorial to Martha Washington, too—a shaft five hundred and fifty five feet deep.

Buildings in DC can only be a certain height, but there’s no limit in Maryland. And there are a few spots where you can see the transition.

My Uncle lives in a high rise penthouse apartment in Arlington, which does allow for tall buildings.

So Ira’s been watching Tip’s progress. He’s enjoyed the whole drawn-out process. But we’ll see how he’ll feel, when Tip brings back the real. He’s got something he’s planning, I guess.

Okay, now is this a double bluff, or does Ira have a reason for letting Tip through? This guy could give Vetinari a run for his money when it comes to scheming.

    Let’s vote! 😉

    a) “Tip, I am your grandfather.”
    b) “Tip, I am your father.”
    c) “Tip, I am you.”

I’m raising my hand for c)!

Now, if it were Artie up on that roof, he could probably talk the atomizer into joining the Machine Union and maybe going on strike or something. Not really sure what Tip’s going to do.
