Nah, it’s not a ninja move.
A proper ninja would have done that *silently*.

Also, there would probably be some throwing stars involved..

I don’t know . . . I didn’t see the slightest sign of ninjas, so there were probably ninjas.

I believe the inverse ninja rule applies to stealth as well as martial aptitude. If you don’t see the slightest sign of ninjas, there is at most one ninja.

If you see them, they’re not great ninjas. If you see nothing, then ninjas.

Definitely ninja involvement, i have to admit that Half Moon Bay is a nice choice for it too.

Man, I’m really jazzed that this story is taking place in my neck of the woods, with familiar placenames and everything. Though I suppose it’s also Shaenon’s neck of the woods, so it only makes sense.

I am tickled pink that Unity is still wearing her kitty ears.
    Also: Artie re-seduction!
    Reduction? Sreduction?

(TUNE: “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” theme song, Chuck Lorre)

    [CHORUS:]
      Nimble double ninja dating!
      Nimble double ninja dating!
      Nimble double ninja dating!
Fellows who can fast-talk … penis power!

Sweetheart says to Tip, “Now listen here!
This is personal, so it must not interfere!”
“No, of course not,” they both say,
So their diff’rences they’ll drink away!
    [repeat CHORUS]

Tip and Artie, issues they’ll resolve …
In a glass of wine, all their drama will dissolve!
In a tavern by the sea,
They must get it on — for diplomacy!
    [repeat CHORUS]

Unity is way more clueful these days (since the Notary Temple arc, really). This is cool.

    “Two Johnny Walker Platinum!”
“And your best bucket of oysters!”
    “For diplomacy!”

Seriously, diplomats get all the perks.

I think this situation calls for extra dry Hendrick’s gin martinis and a moonlit beach … diplomatically speaking.

Tip’s personal business had better not interfere with the mission… which means it’s totally gonna interfere with the mission. The question is, will Tip be able to turn it to their advantage?

And somehow I think that Artie just pulled a seduction Jedi mind trick on Tip so he can tell him his private agenda for the team’s mission and recruit Tip to his cause. Over dinner that is.

Very, very technically, those two are following Sweetheart’s orders to the letter.

As a career bureaucrat, she should appreciate the artistry in how they did so.

It’s always been implied, but I THINK this is the first time that Artie’s totally irrelevant human-form skin pigmentation has been rendered in color. ZOMG #history (Or have their been bumper poses/ book covers somewhere?)

The first such rendition seems to be a Sunday installment of Narbonic shortly after his original “unveiling”:

Is it just me, or is that first picture a Rule 63 Tip? (Or Tip a Rule 63 of the character there?)

Tip, a Narbon? That certainly would complicate things with Artie there.

But no, that first picture is Helen Narbon, title character of Narbonic
