I’m pretty sure Ginny is completely unaware of what she just did, and rather than coming across as uncaring, she’s just completely clueless, which is kind of endearing.
Now i’m wondering what passes for life (brain?) support for Nick. In an embodied situation his heart would have started beating fast.
Futurama (and all its bottled brains) have not prepared us for the brains trigger of an adrenal response where there is no adrenal gland. Unless they kept more of Nick’s body than just the brain…
(TUNE: “I’m Henery The Eighth, I Am”, Fred Murray and R. P. Weston, as performed by Herman’s Hermits)
I’m on a date without a man!
On a date without a man, I am!
I had a drink with Violet Bee,
Then she started coming on to me!
Is she a ‘bot, or a lesbian?
Or like Nick, a brain within a can?
See how Nick gets hot while telling him
‘Bout my date without a man!
(I’m not sore … please tell me more!)
,i.[repeat 1st verse]
See … me … flee V. Bee!
How I hate … lousy date!
On a date without a man, I am!
On a date without a man!
Ya know, “robust science guy” ends up sounding complimentary. We wonder what Nick actually said.
I’m now seeing a new version of an old TV show which would be titled “Bill Nye the Robust Science Guy.”
If Dr. Lee explains the whole “might be a man’s brain in a robot woman’s body” thing to Nick, I wonder if he’ll start scheming to have HIS brain transplanted into the robot (or any male robots they may have lying around.)
Slightly offtopic thought but,…It occurs to me that Violet Bee may actually be quite innocent of what both Ginny and we currently think is going on. It’s already been established that GODOT is capable of controlling what organic life sees and hears so it may very well be that all Miss Bee was doing was asking reasonably intelligent technical questions and planning out the day while we see and hear something different. Against this possibility we have GODOT’s assurance that he is a homicidal AI rather than a pervert *but* 1) Would an illusionist be any good at illusions if they didn’t like deception at base? No reason for a lying, homicidal AI not to lie about whether he’s a pervert or not. (Mind you, the fact that GODOT doesn’t have any glands either makes him as unlikely to have a sex drive as Violet Bee).
2) More importantly, just because a homicidal AI isn’t a pervert doesn’t necessarily mean that he wouldn’t make use of what other people consider perverted in order to drive them to their deaths. This particular illusion does represent a good way of driving a wedge between 2 key players on the team most likely to cause trouble for him by possibly putting them at one another’s throats while he deals with them at leisure. In addition it serves to flush out whatever support network Ginny outside of her employment connections. If *you* were a homicidal AI would you turn down the use of such illusions merely because the people you plan to murder anyway consider it perverted? o_O
Except that all we’ve seen GODOT doing so far is making people see writing that isn’t there – and a fairly unconvincing illusion as pointed out by Unity. Extrapolating that to being able to cause fully immersive hallucinations is totally unsupported.
And all of Nick’s windows spontaneously fogged up just then.
Hahahaha
I’m not cleaning that!
Silent penultimate panels: …
Once again, Ginny is the ultimate ‘copter-tease. It would be so cruel, except that I don’t think she knows she’s doing it.

The thing that boggles the mind: she managed to get an Osprey to show emotion….

Excellent! I have a little bust of Henry VIII that plays that song. Thank goodness I now have another set of lyrics to go with the tune.
This is the best silent reaction panel. The rest of you can go home.
I can’t help but imagine what a non sequitur the second-to-last panel would be for a first-time reader of the strip.
“Ask a Bell V-22 Osprey” is syndicated in 300 newspapers nationwide.
Panel 3 is the best rendition of an aircraft pondering what it’s just heard that I’ve ever seen.
OK, the only one.
I bet Kit never had days like this.
Knight Industries Two Thousand.
That nomenclature always bothered me – usual naming conventions would have it as KI-2000, not Two Thousand.
Should have been pronounced kee-took for KI-2K.
KARR at lest had a valid acronym “Knight Automated Roving Robot”
So Nick really is her knight in shining armor!
I thought it stands for raving robot?

Oh, lest I forget, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JEFF! Kudos to your parents for theirgoid work.
That’s “their good work,” of course. Party hardy, dude.
Thanks. I’m having carrot cake and hard cider tonight and I played on a swingset this morning. Good birthday.
Wow. Time flies when you’re having fun, but this is ridiculous. Just how many birthdays DID you have today?
Many happy returns!
Seconded! Happy birthday!
Proof positive that Nick was all man….

That’s the best picture of a helicopter silently getting a boner I’ve ever seen!
I wonder what body part the Homunculus program tried to tie to *blinks silently*. Windshield wipers?
It’s amazing how a silent beat panel of a machine that is physically incapable of altering its appearance can be so expressive.
