Who’s that woman again? Is she head of the asylum?

Dr. Engelbright, the new office manager for Skin Horse, reassigned from the Institute.

She’s their new annoying office manager. I think Sweetheart was their old annoying office manager.

She was transferred to the reopened Skin Horse by the shadow-government bureaucracy. In spite of disliking her intensely, Sweetheart kept her on so she could punish her with vaguely-worded tasks.

Should have said: yes, she is Dr Engelbright, former head of the Institute for the Sane Study of Mad Genius.

You may or may not know of the story about the time the LORD said to all the creatures, ‘Go forth and multiply!’ and one pair of snakes said, ‘Excuse me, LORD, we can’t multiply; we’re adders.’

A short while later the LORD was walking in the garden, and came upon the adders next to the woodpile. They had several baby adders, and the LORD said unto them, ‘You worked out how to multiply, then?’

One of the adders replied, ‘Yes, we’re doing it by logs.’

        Sorry. Not sorry.

tune: “Makin’ Whoopee!,” Walter Donaldson & Gus Kahn, 1928

    “We need some towels.
    Give me a job.”
    “No one wants this one.
    To you I’ll lob
    A task so risky,
    With snakes so frisky,
    Transportin’ cobras.”

    Their friend is back
    Librarian smell
    Inside the shirt
    They know so well
    In there it’s muggy
    But they feel huggy
    Cavortin’ cobras

She left A-Sig in due course
    Cracked, but not quite insane
Now that she works for Skin Horse
She’ll put snakes on a plane

    Tough job head-counting
    Elapidae
    Her head surmounting
    They laugh and play
    They’re cute and wiggly
    Hair makes ’em giggly
    Contortin’ cobras

They all should be all right, so long as getting giggly doesn’t lead to strangulation…

“Semi-sapient”. Ouch. Either being a bit harsh, or there’s an unhappy reason why the cobras never seem to grow up.

Transporting adorable, cuddly cobras. It’s a tough job, but somebody’s got to do it.

We like crickets! They jump around in a funny way! They’re crunchy like when you eat rats straight from the freezer, but they don’t give us fang-freeze!
