Better than Virginia in the green dress? I think not.
Better than Tip in the purple and yellow print dress? Perhaps. But not enough better to warrant giving Virginia a different dress. And that can’t both wear the same dress, can they?
This is SO going to backfire when the emperor dose not get his brain thingamajig and disides to invade LA or something (reading this at 2 am b4 thanksgiving so pardon any errors)
Since Artie has willingly sprung the trap before that’s not necessarily a disincentive. Still, this is almost certainly part of Artie’s far more elaborate game of four-dimensional sociopolitical chess of which the brain-o-mat kerfuffle is but a minigame.
He should really just mojo her to the zombie emperor, than mojo himself to artie an have a mojo battle, resulting in them waking up next morning in the same bed.
I think with all the mad scienrists in skin horse they should really design some Mojo powered teleportation units. It is a power often used but not undersrood.
Its like there was a drive MUCH faster than the Infinite Improbability Drive, – but it was powered by bad news – so to say the least it was unwelcome everywhere.
So is Artie trying to deliberately sabotage the zombie community from getting their Brain-O-Mat? It seems like he has another agenda in mind in the first panel. If so, then why? It would seem that allowing the zombies to live in peace and with greater intellect would be something that would fit neatly with his ideals.
And how is this going to fit into the Old War arc of the greater strip?
If that’s his agenda, I’m sure it has to do with the upcoming meeting with the living. My guess is that if a certain sector of the non-human community gets what it wants, it will not continue to fight alongside the rest of them, thus Artie’s strategy is the opposite of “divide and conquer”.
This is, of course, just a wild guess.
Well if I’m counting correctly, Tip has already used two moves by absconding with Virginia and trying to seduce her. He better make his next move count, since Virginia seems to have made her will save vs. seduction with a bonus from incredulousness.
Perhaps Artie thinks that the brain-o-mat has been sabotaged? After all, we’ve already seen how effective attacking a zombie community’s brain supply. If someone has it out for these zombies, that would seem to be a solid strategy.
Mmmmhmmm… I’m feeling a “War Games” moment here; “The only way to win is not to play.”
mnem
Also, Tip would look much better in the green dress.

Um…Not a Real green dress…
That would be cruel.
This is what happens when Tip overloads his Mojo, isn’t it?

The only winning move is to go first and hope your opponent messes up.
The contest between Tip and Artie seems more like a nice game of speed chess to me, and the queen is mad (or at least irate).
Artie moves pawn to c3, but he knows Tip is a card carrying trap.
I read that as “Tip is carrying a trap card”. It’s… oddly fitting.
Since Artie has willingly sprung the trap before that’s not necessarily a disincentive. Still, this is almost certainly part of Artie’s far more elaborate game of four-dimensional sociopolitical chess of which the brain-o-mat kerfuffle is but a minigame.
Weaponized Mojo is the best thing.
“That’s cheating!”
“Just taking advantage of the local resources.”
Mojo style: Off pannel teleportation jutsu!
He should really just mojo her to the zombie emperor, than mojo himself to artie an have a mojo battle, resulting in them waking up next morning in the same bed.
If not for tips brusied ego that would be exactly what would have happened except. As tip conveniently explained a moment ago.

(TUNE: “This Magic Moment”, The Drifters)
Tip’s Magic Mojo!
So special and so strong!
He’ll find Virginia,
And then bring her along …
Along to dancing,
They teleport somehow!
How, what, and where, though,
Aren’t important right now!
Never mind the ballroom …
Never mind the change of clothes …
These are the Mojo Moves!
The Mojo that Wilkin knows!
Tip’s Magic Mojo,
That lasts through thick and thin!
All that’s important is,
In just three moves, our Tip … will … win!
Sir, your sheer *range* continues to astound me. As always, very well done.

Hmm, could Three Moves be a reference to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon?
I guess Artie did have to wait for her to sobed up, so I will forgive him for not speaking up sooner.
