Wait! Did that damned veggie-bear have a HAT?

The one who got chopped in two by the razor doors didn’t, but the one that first attacked them outside the base did.

Well, I thought there would be a reasonable explanation. The Cypress has split again, and her daughter is evil and insane, due to absorbing too many evil and insane Anasigma employees. A-sig literally brought this fate upon itself. Unfortunately, innocent people who happened to be in the area have also been affected, and it’s only going to get worse. Sounds like Sweetheart needs to send Unity in with Gentle Persuasion.

If this is correct, it’s a self-righting problem – eventually the Cypress will absorb enough normal people to counteract the crazy Anasigma effect and become well adjusted again. “Take two villages and call me in the morning” Hooray!

And you would sacrifice all those “normal people” – innocent bystanders, as it were – in the hopes that they don’t also harbour some irrational feelings of rage?

Small town people from the industrial midwest. Great, rage and a big believer in Fox News.

Well, there are Illinois Amish. If it absorbs enough of them, it will be too busy with barns and handicrafts (tendrilcrafts?) to indulge in any mad science shape-shifting nonsense.

Um, that’s how we ended up with the Unity biomass in the Mirror Universe.

Well, in “Looking Glass Land,” they sent DisUnity into the swamp in Colma and the whole thing became Greater Unity.

But even then alt-Dan (or alt- Zombie Ben Franklin) seemed to exercise a good deal of sway over the resulting gestalt creature, and he had all that rage about being called Zombie Ben Franklin (and, probably, hadn’t met alt-Claire yet.)

(You know Spell Check turned my capital “U” in DisUnity into a small “u?”)

Is Bitey one hat or many hats? That sure looks like Bitey.

There’s at least two of them.

Tip and Unity introduced Bitey to Mirror-Bitey, and they reproduced.

The Cypress’s tendrils appear to be growing rapidly. Not sure that’s a good thing.

She’s the civil one. They should encourage her growth in order to counter the Thing(s) on the surface.

So if Cypress isn’t driving the collective now… who is?
