Least likely to mutiny or condone mutiny. After all, you don’t want your top officers, the ones with real power, spreading mutinous thoughts throughout the crew.
Where she can go single
Search the ship and mingle
Use techno-cryptology
Then she can begin to use her wiles to find a clue
On the ice-ship in the sea
More than meets the eye
Uploading to her hard drive
Hints of cosmognothy
Nick goes off to shore
While she can lock the door
On a ship made of Pykrete
In the navy!
Yes, she can bark up the right trees!
In the navy!
And she can put her mind at ease!
In the navy!
Go on now, Nera, make a plan!
In the navy, in the navy!
She can run all kinds of scans!
In the navy!
She can see they need a hand!
In the navy!
That ship is plainly undermanned
In the navy!
Go on, now, Nera, make a plan,
In the navy, in the navy…
Either sea monster has been upsetting people there, or AG-I have been while looking for the sea monster. A sea monster is absolutely the sort of thing Anasigma would be interested in, so either could work.
I’ve been trying to find the strip in which Nick, having joined AG-I, rescues a bunch of scientists from a floating platform being menaced by tentacles. It’s a few strips before the first theme song joke. I’m wondering if it’s the same sea monster.
The giant octopus in that one is red and doesn’t have spines on its tentacles, so it would appear to be a completely different sea creature. They might know each other though… 😉
How did this snake, with all his teenage crabiness earlier, get to be the Capn’s right-hand, er, snake?
Basic training and rapid promotion?

Maybe he liked being called Bubbles’s “first mate.”

Uhmm… terrorized coastal towns? Not following…
Places where the giant tentacled creature might have visited?

If anyone knows where to find that one, thanks.
Good memory! I’d completely forgotten about that. This is the strip you are looking for: http://skin-horse.com/comic/a-desk-at/

Octopi can change color – but that earlier one looked more like a normal octopus, but bigger. The creature they’re faced with now is very different.
Thanks for finding it. It does look like a different beastie.
Looks to me like her salute’s trim is more than a little bit too high. But then again, it’s not really my area of expertise; I’m no palm pilot.
It looks more Benny Hill than US military, anyway.
Possibly a Full Rimmer Salute?
Wonder how Alfie salutes?
Extends neck flaps, touches tip of tail to right one in a crisp, military fashion…
This is probably the only universe where Nera’s request would not be considered either strange or disturbing.
Well, most places of business have a door that locks, but usually they keep their toilet in there, too.
Standard request for any IT desk really.
If only more places would grant it…
