Thought Joshua had just the one dog.

Time has passed. He probably had enough experience points to get one or two more. 🙂

Yes, but he’s hallucinating a few more.

Oh ho, it’s Josh and his telepathic dog!

Is this instance of Sundance also telekinetic?

In this case I suspect it is reality blindness that is the spectrum. 🙂

There’s different kinds of sanity, clearly.

      Sanity is relative.

Not my relatives, mind you, but still…

I have sane relatives. Not close relatives, mind, but they exist.

      It’s not a journey, its a destination.

You can be reality-perceptive without being Mad. It’s not a delusion if the things you see that others miss really are there.

      Agreed.

Unfortunately, if your accurate perception constitutes a unique minority, the majority consensus that your sanity is suspect will prevail.

Have we seen main timeline Josh before? It’s possible that this one’s dog actually _does_ have Powers. (If not, how did he know to get the rocket pod ready?)

I love this comic every day but today is absolutely brilliant. Mad science using sanity as a back up plan. Sanity being not so sane.

Geeks gotta suffer, nerds gotta cry.
I gotta call up this man or we’ll die.
Can’t help likin’ this pilot fine.

Tell me he’s crazy, tell me he’s sane.
Tell me it’s hazy, he’s the guy with the plane.
Can’t help likin’ this pilot fine.

    When he’s off his track
    Dogs will bring him back.
    And when he talks alone,
    He seems a dope,
    But there’s still hope.

He can fly planes, as far as they’ll go.
There’s no escape, without him, you know.

Can’t help likin’ this pilot fine.

—from “Can’t Help Lovin’ Dat Man,” Jerome Kern (music) and Oscar Hammerstein II (lyrics), from “Show Boat.”

Note that they haven’t quite clarified if it’s Joshua or the dog who is the same one in that plan.

Everyone in St. Charlie is sane. A pilot who’s sane they retain. But his dogs were emboldened and he did what he told then. They’re just lucky to have him, it’s plain.
