I knew it! I called this a few weeks ago. Mr. Green has no doubt found Tip’s rise through the ranks highly entertaining, and was just waiting for the right moment to spring the trap.
Very likely, Duane. We know Tip moisturizes but I doubt he’d jeopardize his complexion with regular use of makeup. That’s likely emergency concealer or some such (for just such occasions as this). 😉
Apparently there are two different kinds of chartreuse, both ostensibly flavored with (at least) “130 herbs, plants, and flowers.” (Yellow chartreuse has a couple more flavoring agents than the green.) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chartreuse_(liqueur)
More than these main two, but it’s all the same s…
I used to have it as these stupid “dare” you do when you’re drunk and young and drunk on youth, with Suze or Chartreuse, a dare to drink one glas was one of the highest tier, far from Friesengeist (which is not as awful) or Poteen (which is awful but more flamable). Yeah it was silly.
Really it’s not very appreciated unless you go to where it’s produced (and even there people drink craft génépi).
…let’s say we don’t have a word for a color with the name of it and let it at this that all (that I know) literature quoting a use of it are english or american.
To make a comparison, it’s a bit like David Hasslehof being appreciated.
Would you drink David Hasslehof?
Or listen, if that is even a thing that can exist outside Germany?
I don’t know if headbutting it until it breaks is the best idea. We don’t know what the effect of a single massive dose, rather than a controlled release, would be.
Funny possibility: Tip, having been promoted to the highest echelons of the Shadow Government, attempts to pull rank and order Ira to turn off the machine.
It would indeed be interesting if he actually did outrank Ira. But they said he had reached the highest tier, not the highest position. So he doesn’t necessarily outrank him. Being a military man, Tip would never try to pull rank on someone on the same level as he – particularly someone who has been at that level much longer.
And speaking of pulling rank, Ira appears to no longer be in uniform (although his suit is the right color – I just don’t see any medals, ribbons, or rank insignia).
“Being a military man, Tip would never try to pull rank on someone on the same level as he – particularly someone who has been at that level much longer.”
Why? I thought it was the principle of military ranks and discipline (when not speaking of the elected ranks like in spain or ukraine)?
That is precisely the principle of military ranks. Perhaps you just didn’t read my comment correctly.
If Tip and Ira are both at the same level of privilege in the organization (“the highest tier of shadow bureaucracy”), then Tip cannot “pull rank” on Ira, particularly since Ira has been at that level much longer. You can’t “pull rank” unless you actually possess a higher rank to “pull”.
Correct. I believe it’s the case (it was during the US Civil War as I understood it, anyway) that in cases of ties in rank when officers need to figure out who has authority, it’s done by seniority in that rank. There were instances in the Civil War when ranks were back-dated, presumably to give the officer in question a boost in exactly these situations.
The order of precedence is first rank and then seniority. Tip is still wet behind the ears and command sets the uniform.
Therefore if anyone is out of uniform it’s Tip.
However, in the very highest ranks “uniform” is pretty much optional.
When he left wearing the military uniform, he was shown putting on a hat. That jacket is also cut more casually than the more formal military one he was wearing was, with a lower stance, two buttons, and color-keyed material buttons instead of brass.
Tip is no longer military, and doesn’t have a uniform to be out of.
When Tip went to visit Tigerlily, I actually kind of expected her to be the loose end he mentioned. Guess he’s more on the ball on what’s a threat than that, although it does still seem odd to me he’s let Tigerlily go about freely given how much time he operated in her vicinity.
Anasigma’s pretty big on salvaged gear. Echo Bravo and Alfa Alfa used Smart Unity’s dual drone-controlling helmets when they seduced Valiant…I presume they were removed from Nick’s helicopter body after Ira flew off with him.
Tip ~always~ carries a gun, so he really ought to have shot Mr. Green by now, a la Wizards. This entire war hinges on his continued direct involvement.
Tip could easily set in motion the end the war right now, saving countless lives and eliminating a murderer who is guilty of countless crimes that the law will never be able to prosecute him for. So, of course, the idea will never cross Tip’s mind…
To deactivate, Tip’s going high-ra. To reality blind, they can say bye-ra. But to tie up loose ends it all still depends on Tip’s rooftop meeting with Ira.
Well, at the time, no one in Skin Horse had ever seen Mr. Green. I don’t think most, or any of them, even knew who the head of Anasigma was. Remember Mr. Green used to be the shadowy figure that we never saw on camera, kind of like “Cigarette-Smoking Man” in X-files.
Tip *should* have expected this, but I don’t think he did. I think he thought he was “getting away with it”, while Ira was presumably occupied elsewhere. As usual, Mr. Green was three steps (or more) ahead of everyone else.
Roll for Mojo! Can he seduce Mr. Green?
Roll first for Fortitude. Can he overcome his feelings of a quick well enough to make his mojo roll? o_O
I suspect this is where Mr. Green attempts to seduce Tip (with power)
I can’t find the relevant strip, but didn’t he once hit on Tip as Ira as well?
I seem to recall Ira calling Tip “pretty lady” once but the closest I could find is. http://skin-horse.com/comic/up-with-nothing-2/
Here’s where he calls Tip “pretty lady.”
http://skin-horse.com/comic/the-pagoda/
(I think “the ones that hit on me” refers to when Mr. Green was driving Violet.)
Thanks for sharing these, David B Huber and matt w. Those were funny ones I’d forgotten about.
The power is his pGOODNIGHT EVERYBODY
Never made a connection with Tip when he was Violet Bee…
Ira is a gracious host. 🙂
I missed something until just now.
Mr. Green said the wine was breathing .
IS THE WINE BREATHING???
Perhaps the more specific question should be “Is the wine alive and breathing?”
Looks like Mr. Green is going to get that drink with Tip after all!
ooh, good callback!
Yes, thanks for the ref, David B Huber!
The 10 year callback
Oh so this is the loose end Green was talking about.
wait. Does that mean he _predicted_ what Tip would do?
I think Mr. Green and Gavotte has predicted pretty much everything everyone has done. And I’m not certain they aren’t working together, either.
Possibly, although, given the difference in his attire, I doubt it

I never realized Tip wore makeup, he’s talking about makeup right?
Tip could be taking a covert look around the roof top with that mirror.
It’s *called* multitasking.
Very likely, Duane. We know Tip moisturizes but I doubt he’d jeopardize his complexion with regular use of makeup. That’s likely emergency concealer or some such (for just such occasions as this). 😉
You’d think Ira would be a chartreuse man….
ugh chartreuse… wait I forget is this one of this “we’ve always mistaken it for absinthe” or more of “mint sauce is tasty” thing?

That thing in the background wouldn’t happen to belong to a certain mechanical person, would it?
Pretty sure that is the reality blindness device.
It appears to be the atomizer that was taken from Alaska.
Voila! The Man behind the curtain.
“You go and turn off the device, Panini, while I keep Ira busy.”
I don’t know if headbutting it until it breaks is the best idea. We don’t know what the effect of a single massive dose, rather than a controlled release, would be.
I love this comic.
Dun-dun-DUN!

Oh Ok, my bad, I lost in translation that level and rank were designing the same thing here.

He’s outdoor and not wearing his cover. I would assume that means he’s not in uniform.
The order of precedence is first rank and then seniority. Tip is still wet behind the ears and command sets the uniform.

Why do I get the feeling that device is made out of Mustachio?
Is…. that Mustachios’ old body? Guess they ended up salvaging it after all.
No. It’s the atomizer from Alaska.
Anasigma’s pretty big on salvaged gear. Echo Bravo and Alfa Alfa used Smart Unity’s dual drone-controlling helmets when they seduced Valiant…I presume they were removed from Nick’s helicopter body after Ira flew off with him.
So Tip is already familiar with it’s operation! 🙂
Welcome to the boss level. Hope you brought your missile launcher. (Given the Wizard’s fondness for backup plans, only direct force might work.)
You know, I kinda hate to say this, but Ira does kind of look like Dr. Fauci…
Kind of, but Dr. Fauci’s hair is less pointy.
No missile launcher, but he does have a jetpack.
Tip ~always~ carries a gun, so he really ought to have shot Mr. Green by now, a la Wizards. This entire war hinges on his continued direct involvement.

Don’t forget – Ira uses therapy puppets too…
To deactivate, Tip’s going high-ra. To reality blind, they can say bye-ra. But to tie up loose ends it all still depends on Tip’s rooftop meeting with Ira.
How long did Green pose as Ira without any of the Skin Horse team having a clue? How long were they reality blind?
Well, at the time, no one in Skin Horse had ever seen Mr. Green. I don’t think most, or any of them, even knew who the head of Anasigma was. Remember Mr. Green used to be the shadowy figure that we never saw on camera, kind of like “Cigarette-Smoking Man” in X-files.
Submitted for your consideration: Two men at the pinnacle of power, but opposing sides.
One has youthful vigor, idealism and a dream of Lovetron.
The other has experience, wisdom and unlimited pragmatic plans.
They are about to clash in an epic struggle to determine the outcome of the New War and the fate of all mankind (for certain values of “Mankind”).
But are the really on opposite sides? And are they really two men?
Watch out, Ira. Tip’s packin’ cephalosaurus.
(Will this be a case of Checkov’s Dino?)
Tip seems to be at least a little surprised to see Ira up there. But he should have expected this the whole time.
Tip *should* have expected this, but I don’t think he did. I think he thought he was “getting away with it”, while Ira was presumably occupied elsewhere. As usual, Mr. Green was three steps (or more) ahead of everyone else.
