They may be harder to read and comprehend, though. A simpler brain doesn’t necessarily lead to a easy thought-process for hominids to understand. I mean, I have yet to figure out why my cat Gray likes to stick his head inside paper bags and then walk around my apartment bumping into things.
“taking hostages” to “show who has the power” is not a superhero thing. And even though they’re just dressing up as superheroes to impress people they meet I doubt they would have gravitated to this group if they didn’t genuinely have some impulses in that direction on a subconscious level at least. ^_^
Plus Panoptica is ignoring “Cerebriac’s” orders, which probably confuses and annoys Cinderblock. Having loyal idiots who always follow orders can be a double-edged sword.
That’s OK, Pan! In the Palladium RPG you would still get experience points for “a good idea that didn’t work!” and in fairness to you Jonah’s precog did seem to have the effect of making him a Cloud Cuckoolander so I don’t think anyone can blame someone going into his mind for the first time for being distracted. ^_^
Looking into the mind of a precog who can foresee _multiple_ futures is sort of like going onto TV tropes: you think you’ll just look up one thing, but before you know it it’s six hours later and you find yourself writing down the names of obscure Korean anime.
Or you think you’ll look up just one thing, and before you know it it’s six hours later, and not only have you still not looked it up, you’ve forgotten what you wanted to look up in the first place.
Also, can you ever be sure that you’ve actually stopped reading their mind, rather than just reading their mind about a potential future where you’ve stopped reading it?
Oh, he came to her place to distract her,
And she stalled so she could pick his brain.
Then she launched her big counteroffensive,
A mistake that she won’t make again.
In control of the ship situation,
A variety of things she could do.
There was one that she shouldn’t have chosen,
Overestimating Jonah Yu.
All the others were locked up in prison,
But the robots escaped to attack.
She forgot that they had Good Ol’ Rhodey,
And they hacked into Cerebriac.
Taken over a war-surplus ice ship,
AG-I team to do as she bids.
She’d have gotten away with the evil,
If it wasn’t for those rotten kids!
—from, well, a variety of songs. (“I’m thinking tonight of my blue eyes, concerning a great speckled bird. I didn’t know God made honky-tonk angels, and went back to the wild side of life.” —David Allen Coe.)
For whatever reason, the first tune I thought of that fits is Itsy-Bitsy, Teeny-Weeny Yellow Polka-Dot Bikini.
Needs a suitable chorus if it’s to be sung to that tune…
Four, three, two, one, how could things have gone undone?
It was that wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey, pre-cog-ni-tive lit-tle kid-die
Doing what he thought would be okay
That wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey, pre-cog-ni-tive lit-tle kid-die
Don’t know why he thought I could be swayed.
“Lost track of time while psychically interrogating subject in possession of 1. potentially invaluable insights into the future of AG-I and 2. the cutest brown eyes.” Mental note: omit item #2 from incident report.
My being wrong is a virtual certainty, if you take the writers’ word for it, because they are CLEARLY biased. Just because the writers can’t recognize the real heroes of their story doesn’t mean I have to follow their lead. Anyway, it’s just meant as a cheap joke along the lines of /r/theempiredidnothingwrong.
Pan’s incident report to Mr. Green ends up being in the spirit of Therkla the half-orc’s death monologue. “Extirpation means local extinction. I am content to be extirpated from this universe, knowing that what I want is only attainable in others.”
This is the rare case of both a positive and negative example of Hanlon’s Razor. It really should be recorded and studied by future philosophers and cynics.
It’s a mistake you may not get the chance to make again. Not that I think you’re in mortal danger or anything…
The minds of monster may be easier to control telepathically then the minds of humans. So this may not be over yet.

I haven’t even figured out why I like to do that.
Sorry I broke your mirror, bythe way.
Looks like Cinderblock has joined up with the Skin-Horse gang on this one.

Hah, that’s what I said.

“Henchmen. Evil, obedient, bright — pick any two”

No one ever told Pan that ADHD is contagious and that telepaths are very susceptible to it.
Hey, what are you trying to s—ooh, is that the seaplane from Tailspin?

Sorry that this answer wasn’t quicker; I wound up writing down “A Vending Machine Boyfriend” and trying to find out if it was Korean or Japanese.

Sounds like a win-win to me.
Sure, she got distracted, but she also got to read the mind of a pre-cog.
Oh, he came to her place to distract her,

Well shoot! I couldn’t remember how those songs go, so I went with my fall-back, “Red River Valley”. It almost always fits.
For whatever reason, the first tune I thought of that fits is Itsy-Bitsy, Teeny-Weeny Yellow Polka-Dot Bikini.

You seem to be unusually obsessed with this attraction you seem to think Pan has for Jonah. I really and truly hope and pray that you are wrong.

Then again, you may be right.
Does this mean that Jonah is too dumb to be outsmarted? Or too wacky to be predicted?
Why not both?
[Kosh] Yes. [/Kosh]
Correcting myself from last strip.
The greatest weakness of a telepath is having a brain *filled* with useless information
