I wouldn’t put it past Tigerlily to make the “head” area of Annex One detachable with rotors and/or wings to act as an escape vehicle if anything goes wrong.
(Sillyness: I was just watching some old Weird Al videos, and having Tigerlily called “Dr Jones” caused something of a mental hiccup. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8Ow1nlafOg )
If the Clone-o-Mat is anything like other whatever-o-mats, I would say it was designed to produce a clone body in fairly short order – possibly even faster than Helen could have whipped one up, and her family were kind of the reigning experts in cloning.
Robert: If I remember and understand correctly, she’s a very, very, painfully sane scientist when she’s on brains. Not super-sanity, just perfectly practical in every way.
Continuing a trajectory from Washington DC via Snake River Canyon (in southern Idaho) to points beyond doesn’t leave a lot of possible destinations as far as locations that have already featured in the comic. I can only think of two: the secret castle of the notaries from “Once and Future” and the Canadian super-dogs’ hideout in Alaska.
It’s not the same without a motorcycle.
…or a 1969 Dodge Charger.
Well, there’s an idea: Lets put Nick inside the big robot body! Absolutely nothing will go wrong!
Jokes about being inside of him, coming in T-Minus 10.
Maybe if the Mega-Fly Mecha-Clone-O-Mat doesn’t work out.
Even if they do put him in the driver’s seat of the peripatetic building, it won’t be as good as flying.
How do we know that Annex One can’t fly? (Or can’t be mojoed into doing so?)
Gonna have to fly if it’s ever gonna make it to Lovetron.

I guess they didn’t hear what Dr. Jones did with the coke machine. http://skin-horse.com/comic/arms-being/

So what happened to the Clone-o-Matic? o_O
Maybe these two don’t know about it yet?
The clone-o-matic might revive Nick’s brain, but would not get him a body. I guess finding a body is the job of these two.

awgiedawgie: Surely it couldn’t build it faster than Tigerlily can build a robot body for Nick out of whatever happens to be lying around?
She could probably build a giant beer can which couldn’t be crushed if the mood took her. It wouldn’t help Nick much, though.
She built the Clone-o-mat, so it’s anybody’s guess how fast it could whip up a clone. The big question is what kind of clone will it be?
Jesus, I just realized, when Unity is on brains shes a mad scientist…. Hold me.

Upgrade from Incinerator to Metroplex.
Nick is going to lose it when he finds out he’s a giant building/robot! He’ll be so happy.
As Nick learns to use those limbs, there could be some minor discomfort for those inside
Also, if they’re near Snake River Canyon, they’ve moved pretty far west. Just where *are* they going?
Maybe they’re heading out to Colma to see the Emperor.
Reality blindness is already rampant in those fly-over states, so jumping the canyon won’t be noticed, I’m sure.
