Is he gonna work “extirpated” into the song?

We need a remaster of Avril Lavine’s “Complicated”

Why’d you have to go and get me extirpated…

(I can’t actually finish this, I am not talented enough)

Nor am I, but I’ve never let that stop me before…

          (Uh-huh, extirpate)
          (Uh-huh, it’s not great)

Look out, secrets past this door.
Head back, you should not know more.
          The stuff that’s happening,
          In Carbondale,
          Beyond the pale.
          Jonah’s writing his own theme.
          Nera’s following a seam,
          And now she has learned
          There is a man,
          With a masterplan.

          Mr Green schemes,
          Behind all the scenes,
          With him on your back,
          No-one can relax,
          If you learn the truth,
          He’ll be less than ruth,
          To you.

          Tell me,
Why’d you have to go and get me extirpated?
          We know that it,
Involves walnuts somehow but it’s never been demonstrated,
          On-panel.
It’s a bizarre and unspecified threat,
That we’ve never seen actually happen yet,
Honestly, it’s probably better left in readers’ imaginations.

The word “extirpated” brought this to mind…

I guess he’s not quite as gifted with song lyrics as some of us.

Is that sung to the Gummi Bears theme song?

I was thinking Tom Lehrer’s “Plagiarize.”

“Only, please to be calling it ‘Research’.” That’s apt, I guess. Poor old Nicholai Ivanovitch Lobachevsky…

      “Hooray for Hollywood”, I think.

The one that came to my mind was “Baby Face”. Lehrer sort-of fits as well, but it’s less of a show song.

So the man behind the man is… actually still the first man.
Ok, kinda disappointed, but he might still have an even shadowier boss?

His shadowy boss is also him. Never outsource if you can do it right yourself!

Mr. Green may not have a boss as such, but Anasigma is a government contractor. As such, there’s likely to be someone in one of the other boxes who has asked them to do at least some of the things they’ve done over the years. The someone and the box may not exist now, but I suspect they’re something to do with the Man with the Macho Cave (or whatever it is).

So is mad genius directly related to a short attention span?

I don’t think Jonah’s a mad genius, but now that you mention it…

Jonah doesn’t fit Mad Genius for me. I’m plugging for angsty teen superhero. Superheroes are a thing in SH.

Jonah, be quiet so she can reveal that your related to Mr. Green.

So the shadow president wears an oversized helmet to sound all raspy and evil as he gives commands to the rest of the shadow agents?

Actually, that would be cool, now that I think about it.

Argh – now I have to THINK!?! And the closest I can get to the song is “sarah” by Jefferson Starship. Unless it is Danke Schoen by Wayne Newton? but either way.. one or both of us is doing an awful job of it!

Oh, thanks a lot, Doc. Now I’m going to have that infernal song stuck in my head. I don’t even like Wayne Newton.

So, anyone else think Mr. Green is Evil Future Jonah?

I’ve literally just noticed that this is a new storyline. Anyone know where the title comes from? Googling for “Unsinkable”, “children’s book” gets me a lot of kids’ books about the Titanic and/or Molly Brown and a picture book called Cyrus the Unsinkable Sea Serpent that I’ve never heard of before, but I’m not on the same continent as the creators, so can’t judge how obscure it is over there.

Ooh, good catch. I thought it was still part of “Sure as You’re Born.”
