One wonders where this arc is actually headed. Shaenon and Jeff seem to be deliberately wrongfooting us. First the story looked to be about the transgenic rights bill. Then came Tremontino, and it seemed to be another vignette. Ditto Sweetheart’s arrival (do we even know why she popped up?) Then there were explosions and opossums and HT, and it looked like it was going to be “If I Ran the Zoo Vol. II.” But then Tip wound up strapped to the Groovitron, which suggested an ethereal cosmic boogaloo was coming, only nothing happened. And now there’s this.
I expect most of those will be woven together soon, or demonstrating that they always have been. I’d give Tremontino a 50/50 on being important again, but then again I’ve forgotten if his name had any significant meaning.
Well, Jeff did mention a few days back that we hadn’t gotten to the weird part yet. So it’s possible that we still haven’t gotten to the weird part yet.
Normally I’d blame Tip, but given he’s surrounded by marsupials that don’t include him in their sexual attractions, I’m pretty sure it was actually Sweetheart terror-mojo.
I’ll bet Tony and Mercutio and Tip Wilkin are involved.
I do not see how this could possibly end badly for Sweetheart. And maybe upstate Vermont.
is there a trope for this, or are we breaking new ground here?

A quick bit of Googling informs me that his name is the Italian version of “Rumpelstiltskin.”
I’d take both to break down into “little earthquake,” but the emotional content in Italian or Mitteleuropan eludes me.
