Ground Control, it’s the coffee shop the Skin-Horse gang sometimes hangs out in back in DC.
Brain extraction has always been one of Dr. Lee’s favorite things. Probably moving Nick’s brain from the meat to the machine.

Considering the little heart emanating from Virginia’s head, I’d say that is almost certainly Nick in the jar.
Are you sure the heart isn’t for the coffee?
If it were me, the heart would definitely be for the coffee.
If that’s Nick’s wedding tux, he needs a cummerbund.
I can’t help noticing Jeff’s unprecedented absence which – combined with the late posting of today’s strip – fills me with concern.
I pray he’s OK and just taking a little time to recuperate from his trip to the hospital.

Thanks, David! I’m fine enough for daily values of the word. Just went to bed a bit early last night, and my Central time vs. Shaenon’s Pacific meant I was in bed and couldn’t comnent on time. Thanks for the love! Love you right back.
Nick has joined either the Secret Service or the Blues Brothers.
Or the Men in Black. (I can easily see Skin Horse as a subdivision of such an organization a few alternate universes over.)
In that outfit, Nick reminds me of demon-hunter Seth.
When Skin Horse moved into the Maragda Building, they all dressed like that on their first day.
Nick didn’t have a meat peripheral to dress in black at the time, so apparently someone requested a sketch of him like that as if he had.
I did! I mean, I forgot that they all dressed up fancy for that –my official request to Shaenon was thus:
“Oh, always Nick, obvs. I’d love him in classic helicoptor form (or maybe an interior shot with the brain-in-a-jar and a cockpit? This is all probably rudely difficult to draw, but I am running out of different Nick’s, so maybe if it’s easier, Nick in a classic MiB suit and sunglasses?”
And then she drew it and sent it to me and also posted it here and YAY!!!
(I would link a photo of all my different Nick sketches, but I don’t actually have one close at hand right now. Suffice to say, I have at least five different versions of the boy by now :3
