(TUNE: “Carolina In The Morning”, Walter Donaldson & Gus Kahn)

    Nothing could be cuter
Than the man who quotes Neruda
    In the darkness!
    Can’t be an intruder
If the man can quote Neruda
    In the darkness!

    He can open doorways,
    Speak my name as well!
Looks like three or four ways
    He has been through hell!

    Hall that’s lit so dimly,
    It’s like Moria with Gimli!
    Such a dark place!
    Gauntlet we are running through,
    Just like from Baltic Avenue
    To Park Place!

Now she found her partner and she isn’t dismayed!
    It’s a skill sporadic’ly of use, I’m afraid,
    To be a zombie shooter
    Who can calmly quote Neruda
    In the darkness!

THIS SUMMER… an undead mockery of life will roam the streets, quoting Latin American poetry as it grows in intelligence…. until finally it can extract cube roots in its head!
FLOWERS FOR FRANKENSTEIN- OUT JUNE 18th

I don’t know about the movie itself, but that title kicks ass.

Ed’s filk was great, but you win the internet today. The only way your trailer would be better would be if it started out with “IN A WORLD WHERE…” and was voiced by Don LaFontaine.

        That’s easy.

If only Sergio had brought along the Crystal of Marinia, he could cellularly destabilize the zombies.

What’s that? Of course he has it.

(Were there really no comments back then or have they all been lost? This is after the switch from WCN.)

Looks like the comments are lost, because I’m pretty sure there were some on that strip.

Good lord, it looks like Narbonics Labs threw up on his front lawn…

To the tune of “Maria” from West Side Story:

The strangest sound I ever heard,
How can one make Nobel literature so absurd?

    Neruda,
    The undead just quoted Neruda.
    How strange that poetry,
could mean zombies deadly, for me.

    Neruda,
since when did zombies quote Neruda?
    My hiding spot found,
    by a zombie profound.
    Dear me!

And so now, they can open the doors!
And so now, they verbally discourse.

    Neruda,
    They won’t stop quoting Neruda.
It’s the strangest thing I have heard.

He looks worse for wear – Ultimate question – are SH/Narbonic-verse zombies contagious?? Sergio may need to be put down like a mad dog.

Sergio’s line in the last panel makes me entirely too happy.

I’m sorry if this shows my literature ignorance, but what’s Neruda?

I’m ashamed to admit that my only real familiarity with him is that I believe he’s Ted’s favorite poet in How I Met Your Mother.

(Associated One True Pairing in my head: SERGIO IS THE MOTHER!)

I thought that getting the zombies back to being able to speak and open doors was the plan
