Yeah, ask Lim-Lim how that “strength of a bear” thing holds up against Unity.

      Especially a “super” mouth.

Has the eyes of an eagle, but wears glasses? Maybe it’s just the color-vision (or lack thereof) of an eagle.

      [Hawk, not eagle. Close enough.]

        Maybe they’re decorative glasses?

If all she got was color vision, then she should have used a stomatopod for that.

      Are hawks long-sighted?
Those do look like they might be reading glasses.

      Maybe they’re just for aesthetics

Hawks are very farsighted. Spotting a rabbit at 300 yards, fine. At 3 yards, not so much.

At least we know she didn’t get the eyes of a tiger.

Robert Nowall: Surely we already knew that? A tiger’s eyes aren’t white.

There’s a lot we don’t know about H.T.. If this ever changes, we may find out where he did get those eyes.

To quote Xykon, to win you just need overwhelming power and style, and in a pinch, style can slide.

You’d think with all those super senses she might have noticed that Unity is not exactly ordinary, either…

I got curious and Googled around, and it looks like bears might actually be weaker than tigers, at least in terms of what they can lift. The numbers I found were of bears lifting 500kg/0.8 times body weight, and tigers lifting 550kg/twice body weight. Still, “strength of a bear” is clean and easily understandable, so I suspect I’m taking this too literally and I’m sorry.

Thanks, lizard for looking that up. I’d been wondering at the tiger::bear strength comparison, too!

Similarly, while Lions may be the ‘King Of Beasts’ and the advantage in fiction usually goes to them, in real tiger-lion fights the tiger usually kicks the lion to the curb.

What fan service, Jeff & Shaenon! With all the “ME” too comments yesterday, many would have been disappointed if Unity DIDN’T at least attack off-screen.

I guess we’ve learned that Speed of the Puma is not match for Speed of the Zombie.

Was wondering why no comment from Daphne on this strip especially after her comments on the last few her alt-self has appeared in, then realized that she’s probably still dazed from that punch to the face…

It is definitely satisfying to see Daphne get punched in the face.
