Have you ever done a skin horse filk of “wayward son”? i have no idea why but that song always reminds of this comic: somehow it just fits perfectly in my mind
So in answer to my earlier question, Violet apparently can handle combat situations, and quite pragmatically at that. Frankly, as far as robot fight scenes go, I am rather underwhelmed.
So is it named Unpopular Mechanics because it’s unpopular, or is it unpopular because it’s named Unpopular Mechanics?
It contains detailed information about mechanical concepts that are unpopular. By mechanics who are unpopular (but who, being Mad geniuses, are indeed experts in their field). For readers who are unpopular.
I used to subscribe, but I dropped it in favor of Unscientific American and Destroy.
I prefer Irrational Geographic for my leisure reading.
Have you tried “Improbable Research” home of the Ig Nobel Prizes?

That would explain issues of This New Mansion.
When I was a kid, my parents subscribed to Death. I think they still have the JFK commemorative issue.
What, too soon?
We got Sports In Tiny, Cramped Print, but my parents always took away the swimsuit issue.
I enjoyed Psychosis Today until they devolved into random key-mashing that DIDN’T contain cyphers.
Eddurd, lovely ^_^
(TUNE: “When You Wish Upon A Star”, Washington & Harline)
Building things unpopular,
Like a pudding-powered car …
Anything that you can dream,
Then you can build …
Ruby has an on/off switch …
Violet finds it, what a b*tch!
Hearing all her victims scream
Just gets her thrilled …
Cy-borg girl,
Now fallen to the ground!
Too late, the poor thing’s found
That Vio-let’s violent …
Deadly mechanisms weird,
So much worse than we had feared!
Building things unpopular
Will get … us … killed!

Yes, I used that once (back in August of last year). If the opportunity comes up, I can always use it again.
I need to expand my repertoire a bit, I’m running out of tunes I haven’t used before.
You mean there are tunes you haven’t used yet? with your output I thought you had used them all. 🙂
At least she got to have her yogurt first.

This android Ruby is familiar to me
Saw her plan in 2D
In an older issue
How do I get her out of my way . . .
Now I know just what I can do with you!
Enjoy your spoon of yogurt, ’cause it’s all over now
I know your weakness and I’m pressing right here
I’m gonna turn you off
I’m gonna get out of this jail
Take you out
I read Unpopular Mechanics
Bad touch!

So is it named Unpopular Mechanics because it’s unpopular, or is it unpopular because it’s named Unpopular Mechanics?
Or maybe it only has dull unpopular stories.
specializing in under-reported science stories.
It’s written by mechanics who are unpopular. Nobody cares enough for them to give their publication a read.
It contains detailed information about mechanical concepts that are unpopular. By mechanics who are unpopular (but who, being Mad geniuses, are indeed experts in their field). For readers who are unpopular.
“Why do I even HAVE that switch?” She could have had it removed when she got her new wings.
Apparently the only thing without an off switch is an infant on an airplane.
They have off switches, but people get really upset when you use them.
That last panel stands up to multiple readings.
I woulda taken that out
I am like 90% certain that Unpopular Mechanics was a thing in Narbonic, too…
