I hope “M” didn’t hurt himself hitting something that hard.

Do you mean “hitting something that hard” as in generating a heavy impact, or impacting with such a dense skull?

        Yes!

(TUNE: “Young At Heart”, Johnny Richards & Carolyn Leigh)

Don’t you know, you should go!
    Do not challenge a foe
    Who is old and smart!
    Let the bystanders be!
    Better listen to me,
    For I’m old and smart!

    Boastful fellow, instead,
Should have packed up and fled!
For the things that he said,
He’ll get klonked on the head!
This whipper-snapper, mocking me for being old,
Is sure to find it shocking, being knocked out cold!

    Elder folks, why of course,
    They’re our greatest resource,
    For they’re old and smart!
    Youth with vigor and vim
    Is no challenge for him
    Who is old and smart!

    For on history’s page,
    The Victorian Age
    Could not hinder or cage
    My terrific rampage!
    So blows I will impart
    To this young upstart!
Best beware, for I am very old and smart!

Singing this in my best Sinatra, and loving it. Another great filk from the master.

I’m not getting the “old and smart” theme here.

My dad always told me he would defeat me because youth and skill would be overcome by age and treachery.

Paladin, I used “old and smart” because the original lyrics were “young at heart”. It keeps the same rhyme scheme, plus the “old” contrasts with “young”.

And besides, after that klonk, Moustachio certainly made Echo Bravo’s head smart. Ow.

What about the children? Will no-one think of the children?

“The elderly ARE our greatest natural resource!”

That’s what I said, but the cops still got all huffy when I threw some more into the furnace.

Well, no wonder: that’s terribly energy-inefficient, unless you thoroughly dry them out first.

Don’t they turn the elderly into Soylent Green?

As well as anyone they ‘arrested’ during the riots.

The ‘factory’ where they processed the bodies was all ‘everyone wrapped up like a mummy’.

Remake of that would probably be more ‘loading the hopper w/ a bulldozer’ with arms and legs hanging out. Unfortunately reminiscent of the photos from the concentration camps of WWII.

In the 19th Century people were more aware of the need for quality in a product.

To paraphrase Sir Pratchett, Mustachio has more than a century of experience in being a madtech engine of destruction. He’s gotten quite good at it.

Before trying your mettle against the old pros, ask yourself how they got that way in the first place . . .
