    Why wouldn’t it be H.T….?

Anyone else hear H.T. as Sideshow Bob?

I always heard him more as an evil Nathan Lane, but yours makes more sense.

I’ve always heard him as George Sanders.

        Is that speciesist?

Like the one he used for Preedex “Preed” Yoa from Titan A.E.

BTW, for me he sounds like either Tony Jay or Ben Kingsley.

I hear him as Alan Rickman. (RIP, Mr. Rickman.)

Kelsey Grammer? Sure, that works. As do some of the other suggestions, to which I’ll add Jeremy Irons — or even Gary Oldman in his “Dr. Smith” mode if you want a Darker and Edgier version.

Thanks to watching Talespin in my formative years, I primarily hear him as Tony Jay.

Always Tony Jay. His voice conveys even more affable upper class malice than Kelsey Grammer’s.

You know, HT, there is a limit to how far humanity’s gonna let you ride the ‘he’s a sapient being!’ defense.

      May 2, 2018, 4:57 am | # | Reply

Currently, almost all of humanity [1] is unable to perceive him as a sapient being, so there’s no percentage in avoiding the Sinister Plotting.

[1] I’m assuming the reality blindness is not limited to the USA and Canada.

        May 2, 2018, 5:44 am | # | Reply

The fact taht people aren’t able to perceive his sapience only makes him being here even more bizarre. He should have been tracked down and either tranquilized or killed a dozen times already.

IIRC, he’s been wearing a sort of clown suit, a tiger in a clown suit being weird enough for people’s minds to filter him out altogether.

I know, right? I mean Hitler was a sapient being! I hate the recent tendency to call everybody Hitler, but as this fucker is literally trying to commit genocide I think the comparison fits.

Actually, I think even Blake’d be muttering “Sod off, you bastard,” and going off to get his elephant gun at this point.

        Tyger Tyger, burning bright,
        After Tip gave me a light;
Plus a zombied hand from my
        new girlfriend, cheerful UNITY.

        In what shadow, deep-state guise
Came this tiger who I despise?
On what grounds were you required?
Never mind, of you I’m tired.

And what program, of what art,
Could make this hatred of thy heart?
And when thy mouth yearned for man-meat,
Who wrote “Success!’? On what spreadsheet?

What the purpose? Why this pain,
Hunger foul placed in thy brain?
Were there meetings? Did they gasp
When at last you left their grasp?

        When they saw you disappear
Did they shed then any tears?
Did they smile your work, to see?
        — Oops, you’re ashes. Oh, silly me.

        Tyger Tyger burning bright,
I could watch you burn all night:
Stop getting cinders in my eye,
While I sit here with UNITY.

If Buddy is terrible at fighting, how is he the alpha?

    • Thenardyr
      May 2, 2018, 2:11 am | # | Reply

Everybody in the pack likes him. His significant others do the thinking, but no one would listen to them without buddy’s charisma. Apparently the Patriarchy really is everywhere.

Also, in the previous arc with the pack, Tip’s fight with Buddy for dominance took the form of an election complete with campaigning and debates, rather than bloodshed.

Because the alpha of a canine pack is generally the senior member of the family group and its got nothing to do with fighting for dominance?

Sweetheart speaks for all of us. This is one case where I would actually advocate for a long running character to die, preferably horribly.

On another note, why would a pack of dogs let a tiger join them?!

      • Frank
        May 2, 2018, 12:19 pm | # | Reply

because he’s bigger, stronger, and pummel them if they don’t?

      • awgiedawgie
        May 2, 2018, 2:30 pm | # | Reply

The whole pack combined probably weighs only about half of what HT weighs on his own. If they all attacked him at once, they could probably take him down, just by sheer numbers. But they would have to be wholly committed to it, and at least a couple of them would die in the process.

But more importantly, HT is a very smooth talker. He has always used his silver tongue to convince others to do his bidding, and his size just for a little added intimidation. He only resorts to violence when that doesn’t work.

        • Chrisn
          May 2, 2018, 3:15 pm | # | Reply

Besides, the pack was only just barely willing to help humanity at all before. Without Tip’s werewolf sex appeal, HT could have found it easy to swing the decision back.

The first questions that come to mind are “how?” and “why?” Ironically, those are probably the questions I don’t want to know the answers to.
