Other than the thirsty swamp, was there anything alive in Colma?

Fraught and hugging actually make some sense, perhaps Nick is learning to tweak the filter a bit. 🙂

Funny that “woodpeckers” is normal speech.

      The filter is intelligent.

Don’t try and put this on Tip, Nick. You knew you were flying into a likely dangerous situation: checking for enemy forces goes without saying.

…besides, he was flaunting his experience. Checking the surface was basic survival! XD

For being rockets, those sure look and sound* an awful lot like lasers.

    * (I’m well aware real lasers don’t go pew.)

The yellow explosions are a clue

Why, yes, Dr. Condesencsion, that’s true.

See, where I got confused was with the giant red beams of light and the “Pew” sound effects.

Now, I’ve actually seen people depict exploding lasers in comic books and whatnot, as silly as that sounds, but I’ve never heard of rockets that go “pew pew” and create totally unrelated beams of red light nearby inexplicably.

So, you see, when you’ve got one clue that suggests something, but then two other clues that appear to almost totally debunk that original clue’s suggestion, people quite naturally get confused.

I would’ve said Carbondale is CARBON

Maybe that’s what he meant to say, and the filter censored it anyway.

Which is curiously close to ‘Narbonic’. 😛

Well, this proves that this isn’t a normal wildfire.

Yes. Yes, it is. Catch them off guard, and then bite their heads off.

Why are there people with anti-aircraft rockets/lasers at a wildfire?
