Can Unity be both really, really simple and really, really wise? Why yes, yes she can. Now we get to find out whether or not they will be allowed to leave if they insist.
A ship, a space ship in this case, is one of those things where you jump out have a fun experience with skydiving and then since you didn’t have a parachute you need to sew some new body parts on right?
Well, if Unity jumps ship, she may lose her butt again, which she can replace. However, Sweetheart may have a bit more difficulty surviving a jump from a great height. They may or may not have actually exited the atmosphere. If they have, of course, that would present a new set of problems. I was kind of assuming that Sweetheart would approach Pavane, and say, “We’ve changed our minds. We want off.”
Don’t worry. They’ve got a tractor beam. I’m sure it’ll be no trouble to put it into reverse and drop Sweetheart and Unity off somewhere near wherever Tip went.
I’m a slow thinker (but a fast mouth) so I need me some drone to really get reflective. I’d say that for this strip, Sunn o)))’s song featuring Julian Cope would be appropriate…
Sweetheart and Unity planning to bail. Lovetron was not a holy grail. The tacos and top bunk were not any slam-dunk. So they’ll leave—what could possibly fail?

Mr. Howell: This plan is simple. The simpler a thing is, the more beautiful it is.
Gilligan: I must be gorgeous.
U.N.I.T.Y. is about to have a great day.
I think Unity fails to grasp the whole “ship” concept

I advocate this approach, if only because Pavane’s response might once and for all settle “Is this whole deal (even) more sinister than it seems?”
UNITY’s hand on Sweetheart’s head in the last panel is so sweet.
Love this; they really are good for each other. And I just had a thought: Wonder if Sweetheart’s old pack is still on earth?
The ENTIRE Skin Horse menagerie has been good…..for ME. Also the COMMENTS,
for ten plus years. Thanx for sanity.
I prefer “thanks for the INsanity.” But hey, whatever keeps you afloat.
Heh, sanity is a relative term anyway. I’d say you’re both right.
re: relative sanity…..thanx, cousins.
Stay sane inside insanity…..
Hum…that would make a good lyric for a song!
Loving unit’s tee shirt
So do they hijack the ship and turn it around, or is there a lifeboat they can steal?
She is, as ever, both at once.
Very Zen, is U.N.I.T.Y.
(Ugh, OK, so if you reply with a nn-JS browser you get your reply dumped at the end of the comments thread, no matter what you reply to.)
Welcome to the spaceship California…
That song is an excellent piece of poetry. I rank it right up there with “Wish you were here”.
Not sure if links will be policed, but for anyone wishing to refresh their memory, here are both tracks – examples with clear diction:
Eagles: Hotel California: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVsbvFkhzY4
Pink Floyd: Wish you were here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84Tq-eAJIk4
My absolute goto song when I’m feeling reflective, along with Gone Away by The Offspring, but that’s more dark reflective.
Excellent choice. For me, it’s Midnight Oil’s Outside World.

eagles or gypsy kings version?
I’m partial to the Eagles myself. But for the sake of the current situation, maybe we could get Starship to sing the filk.
Not that much a fan of “Hotel California,” I like a lot of other songs by them but that one, not so much.
Long as the UFO to Lovetron is involved, how ’bout a classic like “Flying Saucers Rock and Roll?” Or, for a band, maybe the Foo Fighters.
My purpose in choosing that song is the one line you wouldn’t even need to change: “You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.”
‘Spose if anybody was tiffany-twisted or had the mercedes-benz…

She probably found out that there weren’t any panda fights, after all.
