Without Hitty, Annex One is probably no longer mobile. But I don’t know if anyone who could go to Lovetron stayed behind in it. (Nick wouldn’t go without Ginny (but they’re probably in the Poconos on their honeymoon), and Artie wouldn’t go without Sergio (possibly the same).)
I like to think that in some flooded sub-basement there was indeed a superintelligent manta who could have sorted it all out if Tip had just asked her first.
He can go feral, and keep bee-hives. Distilling skin conditioners from flowers, lonely by the roadside, befriended
by experience-seeking co-eds. Found by a tightly-wound woman from another planet.
Mature reflection, useful time-filler for when one can’t do much else.
Is there anybody still manning the robot? o_O
The one with three experimental nuclear reactors? Maybe Sergio and Artie, along with Nick and Dr. Lee.
I thought Hittie was one of those reactors.
Indeed, dear Mehitabel *was*. No word on what happened to the other two…

Thanks to Shaenon and Jeff for all of it.

Amen.
Hmmmm. Anybody else wonder if Ira is back at his old station?
(raises hand)
I know the basement dwellers went with Annex 1 but perhaps the Enormous Wise Ray chose to remain behind and can commiserate with Tip again?
Also, it’s really bugging me that Tip is still wearing his prison garb!
*s/b “Enormous Wise Rat” (my typo)
To be fair, we never learned of he had a proper name. He could be Ray the Rat.
Or if he didn’t have a name, Shaenon may have just scribbled a note into her bio references.
Did the whole of Annex 1 leave with the UFO?
Indeed. The GWR was always one of my favorite characters. Ray meets Nigel the Anti-Gravity Ferret coming soon?

Tip has chosen to “own” his prison outfit, therefore it is fashion by definition.
If Tip is going to reflect, won’t he need a mirror?
Nice one.

Okay, who else is expecting a Plot Point to be hidden in the empty lot?
I concur, Shadowmehr, if only because the framing and rendition of the ruins lends a real sense of characterization to the site itself.

Tip’s looking for some time alone. He needs to reflect on his own. But of Annex One, an empty lot done in rubble and weeds leaves him thrown.
And, like this insubstantial pageant faded,
Leave not a rack behind.
Well said!
