I’m starting to wonder if the wardrobe changes aren’t some kind of Mad Genius superpower for tip. Like how Dave could build a death ray out of an old printer or something. Tip can swap outfits the instant he isn’t observed, like some kind of Schrodinger’s Fashonista.
It’s entirely possible that there are loads of people whose Mad skills are in (ostensibly) harmless areas, so they never do the full lab-with-henchmen thing.
Tip has a number of superpowers, the outfit thing not even being the most dramatic (that would be the ability to teleport when seducing someone). I’m not sure there’s any reason to believe they’re mad science related, since they don’t match the observed and recorded symptoms of Walton’s Disorder.
Gosh, it’s been a while since I did my whole “Not everyone who’s a bit off is Mad” high horse. It makes a change to do it for someone other than Ginny.
I will note that Tigerlily Jones has also demonstrated outfit-changing powers, changing from prison uniforms to appropriately funky outfits even when securely tied up. Possibly there are a whole set of reality-warping syndromes with often overlapping domains, of which Mad Science is simply the most aggressively obvious and well known. (Say, Action Film Protagonist Power, in which you somehow never get more than a minor flesh wound no matter how many bullets are flying around, and cannot be hurt by the shock waves of explosions, as long as you head away from them at least at a brisk walk.)
I don’t think Nick realizes how dangerous he is. He can blackout systems by accident, hack entire digital realities in an instant. Use mad tech and he has a high tech warhelicoptor body.
Yes he is a pacifist. More then that he is a good man. This should worry ASIG.
“Demons run when a good man goes to war”
Terry Pratchett mentioned it is better to face a villain. A villain will pose and rant. A good man will kill you without a word. Nick is not a hero who follows the heroes rules. He is not a villain. He is a good man. Pacifism is his choice. If he choose otherwise well. You saw how he eliminated those false barons. Without a word. He did not see them as people…
What would happen if he no longer sees ASIG as people?
With as much time he has spent in virtual spaces, being disconnect from the world… He is primed to become something great and terrible. I hope he doesn’t but just if I was ASIG I would be very nervous about Nick and very polite to his girl.
“Be certain Richard Seaton is very dead before you harm one red hair on Dorothy Seaton’s head.” – Duquesne, “The Skylark of Space” by E.E. “Doc” Smith, 1928
Overall, I agree, except about ASig. I’m not convinced that they aren’t engineering this whole thing for benevolent reasons. (Or at least Mr Green is.) They’ve done too many dumb things to help the heroes ostensibly by accident, like let Virginia Essie with Nick’s brain or release Tigerlily Jones. U think they know how powerful Nick is and it suits them fine.
They have death traps, evil plots, minions who cover their faces…
They have turned themselves into a cliche evil doer group and what is the most common trait of those people? Underestimating someone. Nick is the easiest to underestimate.
The original Tin Woodsman was the softest hearted among the group, but when the time came he “fought like a gladiator”. You are right, A-Sig should be afraid.

Congratulations on calling it!
“Schrodinger’s Fashonista”, that’s a good one
That was my glam/punk band name.

“Schrodinger’s Fashionista” or an offshoot of the Weeping Angels?

I see it more as Tip naturally channeling Mojo. So, similar to the Mads, but with a different focus.
Madness is INT based, Mojo is CHA based.
And as always, Tip looks stunning.
I don’t think I will ever see those two words together like that again.
Got that overlap jacket thing going on, I like it.
To help some, this is when we last saw Tip http://skin-horse.com/comic/be-but-there/
Thanks, so useful, I just went back to recap.
Ditto!

Oh, wait! Too late!

“Good men don’t need rules. Today is not the day to find out why I have so many.”
You have your mystical powers, Nick, and Tip has his.
Space and time bend to Tip’s desire. Literally desire, whether it is for a lover or for new shoes.
It’s kinda bizarre and so strange, that VR time can rearrange. In Vegas it reckoned Nick was gone for a second, and Tim had an outfit to change.
