Doctor Lee isn’t a mad, but she’s definitely weird. Madblood is basically completely sane, but has the intelligence and sense of drama of a normal mad.
Dr. Lee behaves much like some of the more hardcore nerds I’ve met (possibly including myself). So in consideration of my friends, I’m going to say Lee seems pretty normal. Lee’s archetype is nerdy scientist, not mad scientist.
Sweetheart’s inner thoughts in panel 3: “How could this happen to me… I’ve made my mistakes, got nowhere to run, the night goes on as I’m fading away.”
Okay, another, in the regrettable absence of edduard. “I’ve Got a Brand-New Pair of Rollerskates,” Melanie.
We came together, you gave me quite a clue.
A number from the Lo Shu Square, but now I’m feeling blue.
It almost seems like I’m avoiding you
I’d write your number down, but there’s something we’ve got to do
I need a bunch of pens and writing tools
You need a brand-new gran[t]
Let’s get together and file paperwork
We have to get what we can
I’ve been here for a while now,
Coming up with a plan
Oh, I need a bunch of pens and writing tools,
You need a brand-new gran[t].
I really like this latest storyline a lot, happy to see this arc with character-driven drama with Sweetheart. 🙂
Keep up the great work with everything!
Weirdly, I’m now remembering a co-worker at Really Big Insurance Company fired for amongst other reasons (I think) being irresponsible in ordering office supplies. Didn’t look like Sweetheart though.
This is all exciting. I’ve never seen a creation of Mad Science become a Mad before. Here’s hoping she does a full Davenport (I’m still disappointed about Tip not going Mad).
They probably have a hidden camera in there and sent him to say that so she’d breakthrough with a radical invention.
Well they have to make sure they really do have a Mad Genius.
Best way to do that is to redo the breaking process
Puppy dog eyes or someone on the verge of a mental breakdown?
Those are the eyes of MADNESS.
I forget, in this universe, does madness automatically equal genius, or can you simply go mad?
Actually some of the mad geniuses we’ve met here seem a few bricks shy of a full load in other aspects of intelligence and sanity. Take Doctor Lee.
Dr Lee is only a few bricks shy in other aspects of intelligence and sanity; she’s officially Not A Mad Scientist in the Tigerlily Jones sense.

The fun thing about Dr Lee is she gets to do evil mad-sci stuff AND put it down as the responsible, adult, career-minded thing to do.
You can go mad without becoming a genius, but only a genius can go Mad.
Capitalization is important.
Technically Sweetheart’s eyes are always puppy-dog eyes.
Puppy dog eyes or someone on the verge of a mental breakdown?
You say that like they’re mutually exclusive.
Sweetheart’s inner thoughts in panel 3: “How could this happen to me… I’ve made my mistakes, got nowhere to run, the night goes on as I’m fading away.”
Sweetheart’s also forgotten why she’s there. Why not bring the Institute down through lack of office supplies?

They’re not working on The Cure; they’re working on The Disease!
Sweetheart is adorable when she goes into guilt-ridden mode.
I laughed at Sweetheart’s expression in the third panel, and then immediately felt terrible for doing so.

Panel 3: The sound in Sweetheart’s head must sound like a descending slide whistle.

And here I didn’t think the drone could get any more adorable than when Bubbles was using it.
