Sergio is hyper-intelligent, and learned in several fields of science. He has also been observing U.N.I.T.Y. since she rescued/kidnapped him from the snare. He’s probably using his own abilities of manipulation to get her to do what he wants . . . and not eat him at the same time.
This is one of the things where she IS smart enough. She’ll claim she doesn’t have them, improvise blunt weapons, then ‘remember’ she does have the weapons and explosives too.
Automatic weapons
Make our job a breeze!
Automatic weapons
Take out mooks with ease!
Got explosives plastic,
They can clear the room!
It sounds so fantastic
When it goes kaboom!
When your foe’s skull gets bent
With a blunt instrument,
Then he’ll suffer …
Better weapons snuff ’em clean!
Sometimes I can’t tell whether the backstory everyone’s talking about is from this comic long enough ago that I forgot about it, or from the other comic I didn’t read. :/
That comic’s actually somewhat short, though the first comic you didn’t read takes a good deal of time (“pig like that, you don’t eat all at once”) to fully consume and appreciate. I heartily recommend reading both of them.

I find this type of negotiation works well with my players in D&D.
That one’s fun from both sides of the negotiation
Sergio is too smart for his own good
Huh, so does Sergio recognize that brain, or is he just operating on general principles?
Good question. Either way, if someone knows who to sweet-talk an hyper-violent gun-crazed woman, that’s definitely him.
More likely, he knows Unity pretty well, probably from quantum-spying on Virginia.

So…*does* Unity have a cache of automatic weapons and plastic explosives?

UNITY “is” a blunt weapon
Robert Nowell: Don’t know, but she has got ready access to blunt instruments, which is a start. And a chisel. http://skin-horse.com/comic/at-a-time/

Nice to have you back, Ed.
Now we need someone to call their opponents “Mooks” in the strip.
Wait… He said that last out loud?
Oh, well; with Unity it probably doesn’t matter. 🙂
well, he knows how to hit her sweet spots. sweetheart may end up jealous

Finn: Here, I suspect it’s from another other comic you haven’t read yet.

Heaven help us if Unity teams up with Ace from Dr. Who, nyao…
